Last week we happily took delivery of our brand new factory-direct special-order 2017 Burgundy MKZ Reserve Sorry for the long review, but here goes. Last week we happily took delivery of our brand new factory-direct special-order 2017 Burgundy MKZ Reserve from Sal Catalano of the Shaker Family Lincoln Dealer in Woodbury. We had told Sal that “We just want exactly what we want.” So he arranged for the car to be built with everything we wanted, and nothing we didn’t want. We showed up carrying a Tru-Car Guaranteed Discount Certificate. He even beat That discount by a lot! No nasty haggling either – He just offered. By the way, he also “just offered” zero percent financing. We could hardly wait, but when the car arrived on the big truck (three weeks early!) I asked Sal if I could watch and talk to the mechanics in the shop when they performed the “dealer prep”. Sal arranged it. The shop guys were happy to talk about their work, and showed me everything. Ed Shaker came back into the shop during the prep, and showed me some of the silent “engineering stuff” under the car! When they were done, they even did a complete Detailing on our brand new car. It looked beautiful – glistening Burgundy Metallic paint with Creamy Ivory Leather interior. It looked like a perfect cherry sundae! I asked Sal if they could provide a loaner car when our car came in for service. He said, of course, that’s how we do it. And if you want, we will bring the loaner to your home, take your car for service, bring it back to you when it’s done, and pick up the loaner! A few minutes after we had walked in the front door the first time, Ed Shaker (the owner) walked out of his office and introduced himself. We had a nice chat as he explained his simple business philosophy – “Win the customer for Life”! Everyone who worked there obviously practiced that idea with us. A great Thank You to Sal Catalano and Ed Shaker and all the folks! Will we come back to Shaker’s for “Everything Lincoln”? Absolutely. More
