When sales found out I couldn't get into new car they stopped helping, returning calls, putting me off. Wouldn't help to find vehicle w/in my budget. Tried shopping there last summer and they were even stopped helping, returning calls, putting me off. Wouldn't help to find vehicle w/in my budget. Tried shopping there last summer and they were even less friendly. All round horrible experience. More
THE OVERALL EXPERIECE WAS FINE. I WAS NOT ABLE TO TAKE THE CAR WITH ME THAT DAY BECAUSE I NEEDED TO DO MORE SHOPING AROUND AND I DIDNT HAVE THE MONEY WITH ME. TO MAKE SURE I CAME BACK, THE SALESMAN KEPT M THE CAR WITH ME THAT DAY BECAUSE I NEEDED TO DO MORE SHOPING AROUND AND I DIDNT HAVE THE MONEY WITH ME. TO MAKE SURE I CAME BACK, THE SALESMAN KEPT MY DRIVER LICENCE AND I HAD TO DRIVE ALL WEEK WITHOUT A LICENCE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO TAKE ANY CAR FOR A TEST DRIVE. WHEN I CALLED HIM TO HAVE HIM MAIL IT TO ME, HE SAID HE COULDNT BECAUSE THEY DONT HAVE ANY STAMPS AND THAT IF I WANTED IT BACK, I WAS MORE THAN WELCOME TO COME PICK IT UP.IT WOULD TAKE ME OVER AN HOUR TO GET THERE. I HAD TO CALL HIS MANAGER WHO PROMISED HE WOULD MAIL IT OUT TO ME. THE SAD PART IS THAT THEY WERE ON MY TOP LIST AS HAVING THE BEST DEAL FOR ME I JUST NEEDED TO LOOK AROUND SOME MORE TO MAKE SURE I AM MAKING THE RIGHT DECISION. More
We were excited after ordering a new 2010 Scion XD from David Maus Toyota/Scion in Sanford, Florida, but we became concerned after reading some comments here. When we took delivery on our car last week, David Maus Toyota/Scion in Sanford, Florida, but we became concerned after reading some comments here. When we took delivery on our car last week, ALL our concerns were completely relieved! We have taken delivery on several new cars in the past, but we have never had an experience like this one. What an organization! It was the most friendly and efficient transaction imaginable. We must have met at least six people who were either involved in the delivery, or who just wanted to stop by and share their appreciation for our business, and enthusiasm about our purchase. They also spoke sincerely about their own feelings about David Maus Toyota/Scion, and David Maus, its owner. Our car was waiting for us in a glass room, off the main showroom, and it had a huge red ribbon on the hood when our salesman Mark Schaeffer handed us the keys, Angela opened the door, and Ashlley took our picture with our new car. We believe we have bought a very good car … but this dealer may be even better! Thanks to all you good folks at David Maus Toyota/Scion. Mike and Judy More
The people are DAVID MAUS VOLKSWAGEN are just loooking to make a buck as are most car dealers. It was a Sunday afternoon and they said my financial institution was closed and therefore could not get the to make a buck as are most car dealers. It was a Sunday afternoon and they said my financial institution was closed and therefore could not get the EXACT payoff amount for my trade in. Later, they said they pulled the payoff figure off of my credit report and "overestimated" just to be sure. They make a deal, we sign the papers, and I leave with the new Jetta. Two days later, they call saying that the payoff amount was actually $5000 more than what we had agreed upon and that I needed to come up with that money. Um....aren't you the people who told me the figure???? And now, because of your mistake, I am responsible...well turns out....READ THE FINE PRINT....cause now i'm bringing the Jetta back and getting my "trade-in" back in my possession.. I will NEVER go to any David Maus dealership again...nor will any of my friends and family once they have heard this story. More
I'm really disapointed with their commitment with their customers! I had been contacted Mark Schaeffer regarding a 2006 BMW 325. We had already defined the price, fees and tax. I was just waiting for the customers! I had been contacted Mark Schaeffer regarding a 2006 BMW 325. We had already defined the price, fees and tax. I was just waiting for their evaluation to define the trade in conditions. After many attempts/phone calls, Mark spoke with me and told me the car was sold to another customer. I was surprised with this information. They are disgusting! More
Am new to FL. Needed service on window was scraping when going up/down and made grinding noise, informed them of buzzing/humming/vibrating noise coming from driver door/dash. Have extended warranty. Contact going up/down and made grinding noise, informed them of buzzing/humming/vibrating noise coming from driver door/dash. Have extended warranty. Contacted Toyota Warranty based upon what I told them they indicated that the service should be covered if mechanical. The way the dealership described the problems to warranty I had to pay $278.00 for the window to be fixed. The buzz/vibration/humm noise was described to warranty as a "rattle" so not covered. Was told the "rattle" would require a "noise pack" costing almost $800.00. Did not have this done. Buzz/Vibration/Humm sounds like electrical (had car in past that had same problem turned out to be wiring to the stereo). Now am see sparks from dash area and buzz is louder. Called them they told me to bring car in to see if they can replacate problem. Don't trust them now. Window still not correct now am hearing loud air like when window is open. Am a female alone - I believe they saw me coming and thought "gouging". I need to find someone to fix my car. I had a great dealership with great service in Kansas City. But My job is here so this is where I am. Can anyone guide me? More
We visited on the grand opening weekend. My experience was so bad I blogged about it. In a nutshell, my husband and I were dragged all over the HOT parking lot with a couple month old baby in a bucket se was so bad I blogged about it. In a nutshell, my husband and I were dragged all over the HOT parking lot with a couple month old baby in a bucket seat in search of an elusive 6+ passenger vehicle. We requested an SUV type but were told "You don't want that" by the salesman. My current car (a paid for 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser) was insulted and we were condescended to. I've eaten better salesmen for lunch, but this guy took the cake. When I asked him why we should purchase the Toyota Siena instead of a Honda Odyssey, he said... wait for it... "No reason. They're equally good.". I gave him the *perfect* opening to sell me on the car. But no. I asked for printed materials on their vehicles and was told "We don't have any". I've been to many dealerships and they ALL have printed materials with pretty pictures to drool over. We spoke to the manager and apprised him of the situation but it really was a total disappointment overal. More
30 days after I've taken my Toyota I receive nothing in the mail, no phone call but one day at work I was left a message by finance (didn't even say his name)saying that I had to return the car. Gave me no the mail, no phone call but one day at work I was left a message by finance (didn't even say his name)saying that I had to return the car. Gave me no reason why this had happened. For 6 days I'm left fretting trying to get a hold of someone and being constantly transferred and getting no where. I had the means and the proof to make payments to the car it's the whole reason why I imagine they'd even let me drive out of the lot with it. I had to drive all the way over there to finally talk to someone come to find out that they had neglected to tell me that the bank that had accepted me was different than the one that I had made signatures for when I had originally said yes to buying the car. All the time you see in the commercials how they will do anything to earn your business, they can start by teaching their finance department a thing or two about customer service. You DO NOT call somebody up and deliver them such horrible news when it's not backed up by solid evidence, don't even leave a name or phone number where they can be reached or anything. I will not come back to David Maus nor recommend it to anyone that I know. More
Every negative thing you read about this dealer is true. We went to this dealer to price a new 2009 Toyota Camry. When we got there we were greeted by lot attendant who nicely showed us the Camry section. We went to this dealer to price a new 2009 Toyota Camry. When we got there we were greeted by lot attendant who nicely showed us the Camry section. Then tried pushing us towards the used cars section even though we told him we were looking for new cars only. When we found a new Camry we liked with all the options (LE, 16" Enkei rims, tint windows, leather seating and Toyoguard) we were given the total out the door price of over $27,800. We asked about rebates and were told that at the time there were no rebates and that they could not lower the price any because that would be at a lose to them. We then asked how it was possible that Toyota of Orlando was offering pricing of the same car for $21,900 which was much lower that what they were offering in pricing. The Sales Manager Chris S. told us that there was "no way" Toyota of Orlando was actually selling the same car for less and he then went to the computer and pulled off the pricing list of Toyota of Orlando pricing from then internet. When I explained to him that the pricing on the internet was that the same for every Toyota site and generic he readily dismissed the idea of a lower price. Once again they tried to push us towards a used car with high mileage but at a lower price of $19,000 plus tax, tag and dealer fees ($21,000). After again telling them we were only looking a a new vehicle they suggested we buy a entry level Toyota Camry CE with no options but tinted windows...the total price was $22,900. The Sales Manager told us that the only way Toyota of Orlando could show lower prices was that they were taking off rebates for recent college students and recent military members and that Toyota of Orlando’s pricing was an advertising trick. The Sales Manager told us that they all get the same cars for the same prices and that no one could offer the car we wanted for a lower price than what he was offering. He then stated that is why they move over 600 vehicles a month because of their "fair" pricing. After trying to get us sign with them we then told them we would think about it and possibly be back and we then exited the dealership. We then went directly to Toyota of Orlando to see if their pricing was fake like we were told at David Maus Toyota and using discounts and rebates from college students and military members......needless to say we walked out of Toyota of Orlando the same day with the exact car we first wanted at David Maus Toyota for a price of $21,817 minus the window tinting. I really doubt that the window tinting cost the difference of $6000!!!! Summary don't go to David Maus unless they are willing to knock off about $6000 - $8000 their sticker price or go to Toyota of Orlando where they really are the best in the SouthEast! More
We went to David Maus Toyota to look at an auto Camry XLE to replace my current 5-speed (wrist injury). I made it clear to them that I was also considering an Accord EX-L but wanted to give the Camry a chanc to replace my current 5-speed (wrist injury). I made it clear to them that I was also considering an Accord EX-L but wanted to give the Camry a chance since for me it was nearly a wash. They took the keys for our trade and came back with unacceptable values for the trade and refused to budge on the Camry. I took this as a sign that I should leave and go next door to buy the Accord. They refused to give our keys back for 15 minutes while they kept coming back with slightly lower but still too high of an offer. We finally got the keys back and promptly went over to Courtesey Honda and bought that Accord with no issues whatsoever. I had bought a 2003 Tacoma from David Maus before and that was a pleasurable experience but it seems they have failed to maintain their good business practices. More
