Aug 6 Service at Secor-KC Service was far below what I have come to expect from Secor Subaru over the last 20 or so years and 3 Subaru's I have purchased. The Service Rep Dawn Service was far below what I have come to expect from Secor Subaru over the last 20 or so years and 3 Subaru's I have purchased. The Service Rep Dawn Beard was unfriendly and outright rude in manner. Previously to this, the Secor Rep always checked with me each service to make sure nothing was missed. In this instance, my car was seriously over its due date for oil change, which worries me a lot! The oil sensor light did not come on. I brought the car in because I was hearing a tapping noise in the engine. Dawn told me my car does not have an oil sensor light, however I have a work order 9/21/17 that indicates Secor fixed bad oil pressure sensor. My attempts to communicate with Dawn were met with lecturing tone and no willingness to discuss what really happened, or an effort to prevent future issues. Although I realize there is an oil sticker (date/mileage), until this past year or so Secor regularly did an evaluation regardless of what the car was brought in for, performed whatever was needed at that time, which as a customer I came to rely on. I have always brought my cars in for regular service. If Secor's new "Drive Thru Service" means these kinds of changes, it is only fair to advise your long-term customers like myself of how this will impact them. I will not be returning to Secor Subaru in the future due to hassle I was given and the fact that the engine of my car may have been damaged. More

At that point, The tires were just getting on the vehicle (new tires was one of the items) so I had to wait another hour until i Got it back. When dropping off, I mentioned I could run errands with family member rather than waiting for the car.. good thing I didn’t wait. But I feel like my time was taken advantage of. When I did pick up the car, programming the key (second item) didn’t even get done, so I had to make an appointment to bring it back. again. Everyone was friendly, but the work took way too long to get done with no explanation, and after dolling out almost $2k, I expect more from this center, which is where I have done business for years. More

Scheduled 36K Maintenance I recently visited Secor Subaru's service center for my 36k service on my Crosstrek. I scheduled a 3pm appointment online, but arrived almost an hour I recently visited Secor Subaru's service center for my 36k service on my Crosstrek. I scheduled a 3pm appointment online, but arrived almost an hour early in hopes I could get out earlier. My interactions with Jay were fine - he pointed me in the direction of the waiting area, where I had plenty of magazines to read, and then I was paged back to the service/parts counter to pay at 3:25pm or so. At other service centers, I was visited in the waiting area by the service rep, where the point-by-point inspection was gone over before any work was done, and I had options whether or not to pay extra for replacing a filter, etc. I usually do not opt-in for those things, as my husband could take care of them at home. At Secor, they just went ahead and made the decision for me, costing another $30. It is a leased vehicle, so by utilizing the dealership service center, all the paperwork shows that I've taken care of the car during my lease. The car seemed wet when I got outside, and by reading another person's review I see that they give a complimentary car wash with service. I did not know that before, but that's a nice touch. Since it's closer to home than other Subaru dealerships I've been to before, I would visit again. More
Scheduled 75K preventative maintenance I am a long-time Secor customer who has generally been very happy with their sales and service. Since my last visit in March 2018, the service center I am a long-time Secor customer who has generally been very happy with their sales and service. Since my last visit in March 2018, the service center renovation was completed and I noted changes in personnel and work flows. Signs instructed customers to use a new service lane. Since another car was parked in the service lane under the breezeway, I pulled in behind it. When I reached the sign-in window inside the office, I was told that I shouldn't park in the service lane as that blocks traffic. The employee who handled my check-in was efficient to the point of being a bit brusque when I commented on new procedures like her "walk-around" inspection. The routine service took twice as long as had been estimated (2 h vs 1 hr) and no apology or explanation was offered when my car was ready -- this is the reason for a 4 rating instead of 5. There were several new faces; I was disappointed to learn that many of the staff I had come to know over the years were no longer at Secor. While the new staff were courteous, they seemed more impersonal. I did recognize Jay, who checked me out. He gave me a point-by-point review of the service results before processing my payment. In summary, it is perhaps not surprising that the "vibe" in the Service Dept has changed with the staffing changes and physical renovations. Secor still has free coffee and donuts and good WiFi in the waiting area (important to me since I work on my laptop while waiting), and my car still received a complimentary wash (exterior). More
