I walked into Scott Clark Honda yesterday (Father's Day) planning to take a used Accord on a test drive. While I didn't have an appointment, I had done my homework. One name was commonplace in the favorable reviews I read on the dealership's website- Tim, or "Timbo," Black. And what do you know? The man I had read so much about walked over to introduce himself only a few seconds after we walked in the front door. Only minutes later, we were off on a test drive in the CPO Accord that had piqued my interest. Timbo seemed genuinely interested in us as people from the beginning. Indeed, the buying/trading process with Timbo in the lead was seamless from the outset and I never felt pressured into buying. Despite being away from his kids on Father's Day, Timbo made it seem like our experience that day was the only thing he cared about. Timbo even worked late to see us off in our new Accord. Scott Clark Honda does all the little things right. They offered me a competitive price on my trade-in even though it needs a little work before resale. I was well-hydrated throughout the process and, when I needed a little pick-me-up, Timbo came to the rescue with a can of RedBull. I could go on and on about how impressed I was with this experience. Traded in 2004 Odyssey for a new one. After negotiating online we came in to finish the deal. Tim Black was available to help us and take us on a test drive. We ended up being in the dealership longer th online we came in to finish the deal. Tim Black was available to help us and take us on a test drive. From the moment we walked into the dealership, we felt as if we were being helped by a friend. There was plenty of time given to our indecision and a lot of time went into helping us decide. Other dealerships assumed the decision we'd make rather than taking the time to truly help us compare. We left yesterday feeling sure of our choice but not quite ready to commit. When we arrived today, nothing had changed. We were greeted by a friend, the deal was done and we went through an easy process of purchasing the car. Everyone we met was friendly and seemed to be happy to be there as well as happy to help us. Our budget concerns were heard and understood and we truly appreciated that. I would not hestitate to recommend this dealership to a friend. More
My husband and I have been looking for a car for our daughter for about 6 months. She just got home from NC State, finishing her 3rd year, to be home for the summer. She turns 21 next month and has neve daughter for about 6 months. She just got home from NC State, finishing her 3rd year, to be home for the summer. She turns 21 next month and has never gotten her license and never really wanted it. Now, she is getting ready to be a senior in college, living off campus and needed a dependable car. When we arrived on the lot, this energetic gentleman ran up to us yelling high five. I point blank told him why we were there and what my finance capabilities were. We proceeded inside where we filled out the loan application, gave us bottled waters and twizzlers, and walked onto the lot to see what was in our price range. Thinking we found a Honda Civic, we test drove, my daughter was very excited, came inside, only to find out it had already been sold. All good though, because Tim looked like he had a light bulb go off inside his head and took us to the far back to show us a car that had not been put on lot yet. To say the least, my daughter had a fit because it was NC State red!!!!! The Toyota Camry Solara was perfect. Then this is where it got crazy because I had told Tim my budget. He kept going back and forth with us and Dan McColl(finance director) til we finally got it to our budget needs. I can't begin to tell you how awesome Tim and Dan were. I hate going to dealerships because you feel so attacked but this was not the case with Scott Clark Honda of Charlotte. I felt like I was the most important client there no matter what the amount was that we spent. Most salespersons want that 20k and up sale but not Tim, he helped us get what we could afford and was there every step of the way. He even called a couple of days later to see how our daughter was liking the car. Kudos to Timbo Black!!!!!!!!! Pam Pareja More
