Short Line Subaru - Carl Volk #1 I had spent about two months total shopping for the right vehicle to replace my wife’s car. The search was narrowed down to two models: a 2014 or 2015 Ford Escape Titanium and a 2015 Subaru Legacy Limited 2.5 or 3.6. I wanted the safest vehicle for my wife and it had to be all wheel drive. I went to several dealerships throughout Denver and little did I know that my first stop would be my last. Initially I had spoken with Carl Volk at Short Line Subaru. He was very professional and told me that they would give me the best price in town when I was ready to trade in my vehicle. I stayed in contact with Carl over the next two months but there was not pressure at all to buy upfront. I then went to the other Ford dealerships in the area. They were willing to give me more for the trade in but when I found out the 2014 Ford Escape had three recalls it was out of the picture from that point forward. I specifically went to Brighton Ford and was just about to buy when at the last minute the email quote that I had been given had went up 4K at signing. This made me so mad and at that point I was never going to buy a Ford. Most of the Ford dealerships wanted me to buy right then and there. I ended up wasting a lot of time and playing a lot of games. I called Carl up again at Short Line and had them assess the trade in value. It was less than Ford, but Ford depreciates quicker than Subaru… not to mention the Subaru’s had the best safety ratings. I was still on the fence about getting a 2.5 or 3.6 Legacy but after reading several reviews I opted for the more horse power and don’t regret going with it. I wasted too much time playing games with other dealers when from the start Short Line was honest and truly gave me the best price in town. I would recommend anyone looking for a new vehicle to buy from Carl Volk. He has integrity, and took the time to show the ins and outs of our new purchase. More

She was friendly, approachable, competent and efficient. She had excellent customer service skills and she is smart, she also went above and beyond for me. She accepted honored a coupon from another dealer and figured out the way I could save the most on the servicing. The first thing she did was to check for any safety recalls. I didn't ask her, but she went into the system and saw I had a maintenance check that wasn't entered into my glovebox booklet and she added it. She asked if there was anything that was bothering me and I said the bluetooth, so she found the bluetooth guy to help me (he was great too, his name is Randy). She walked me across the way the other offices and she could have just pointed, again it was the extra mile. She gave me tips on when to come in to avoid long waits. At the end of the service she explained what they did, she was quick but thorough and answered questions that I had about tire pressure in winter. I really felt like I was in good hands and I felt respected by her. On other occasions, not necessarily at Subaru but with cars, I've been talked down to, Calysta simply talked to me like a paying customer. She was bright and cheery and even if it meant driving a little further or paying a little more, I would return to this location to see her. I am a young care buyer, with a very strict budget, yet a budget that I knew could be met with the right dealership. David not only found me one car within my needs and budget, but multiple cars. That's right, he came back to me with OPTIONS! That was the best part. I didn't feel like I was being backed into a corner with little choice. I was able to make my own decision about a car that was right for me, and still afford it! He was great and I would highly recommend buying from him! The financing guy was great too. He understood I was maxed out, and didn't waste either of our time with trying to stretch my budget to somewhere I was uncomfortable with. I did have to wait about a week for my car ( I wanted a manual- few and far between) but it was well worth the wait! Please go see David and he'll get you into a car you'll love! More

Greg took pictures and texted them to me. When I looked at the pictures I immediately fell in LOVE. I told Greg we wanted the car. My husband and I drove over an hour to get the car. When we arrived at Shortline Subaru the Hyundai Tuscan was parked out front washed, cleaned from in the inside out. I have NEVER had this kind of response from a dealer in my entire life. I have already referred people to Greg Smiley. I will buy my next car from Shortline Subaru again. Thanks Greg and Team. More

Most of the other dealers used various methods to try to connect by phone or in person before stating their pricing. When they did reply with pricing only a few were close to David's price. All communication including the delivery of the car at time of purchase was professionally handled. The whole experience was easy and fast. I have already recommended to family that they deal with David as he is totally honest and easy to deal with. Overall this was fun. Now who would believe that about buying a car. We strongly recommend David Cardwell! More
