The price we agreed upon was 27k which included our trade in. When we got to the finance managers office they had entered the MSRP as the selling price minus the trade. A 3k difference in what was agreed upon with the sales guy. They focused on the finance rate and monthly payments as they charged us full price for the car. We reviewed the documentation the following day and went back(a 3 hour drive back). They immediately corrected their "honest mistake" Not once did a finance manager OR ANY manager come out to apologize for their "error" They got caught in the scam. I feel that they prey on the naive to charge more as they distract with the finance charges and monthly payments. This was a $3,000 honest mistake. I find it hard to believe that this was an honest mistake. For a dealership that sells alot of cars- if they do this just to a few people per month- it can accumulate to several thousands of honest mistake dollars. I would not recommend doing business here, unless you have money burn and want to pay full price. From a customer service standpoint- a free "out of pocket" oil change was offered from the sales guy. wow what a deal? an out of pocket oil change- for driving 3 hours. amazing customer service. Even at taco bell if they screw up your order, they give you a taco for free. Here they just shy away and blame it on the computer. I will report to the BBB as well. Maybe more have been scammed here like this. In the end, they didn't do anything to "make it right" More
Excellent service Advisor-Tim Stuart I have been taking my 4 cars for service to this dealership now since 2009. I dealt with few good service advisors during my visits (at least 50 oil changes). Some advisors were good and I wish they had stayed. I do not write reviews for good performance because that is expected out of all. Since I came in contact with Tim, he has been very friendly, helpful and talks "natural". Recently I brought my daughter's 2009 Civic for tire replacement. While writing the ticket, Tim noticed the color defect on my car roof and doors. He mentioned that there is a recall for this color defect and my car may be covered under the recall. He looked up the car history and prepared the paperwork to get the tire done and also to get the car repainted. Because the car would be gone for several days he also arranged for a free rental. My daughter was very excited and of course I was very pleased for Tim's attention to customer help. I noticed the paint damage for more than a year and was very noticeable on the car roof. Color damage did not just make my car looked bad but also was making Honda quality look bad. No other advisor or technician mentioned this during my previous visits. Writing this review was long over due for Tim however the last experience prompted me to write and give full credit to Tim. Since 1990, I have purchased 5 new Hondas for my family and I am due to replace two of the cars in near future. As long as Tim is with this dealership, I will sure look around and then purchase from Schaumburg Honda. The purchase credit should go to Tim. Tim understands the value of customer retention. I took my car into Schaumburg honda and had the battery replaced and oil change done. My overall time in the dealer was short, my car was done fast, and I laughed the whole time talking to Tim and his coworkers. This is a great dealership, and the only way place I'll take me car. Headlight Replacement I needed my headlight replaced. The service department was very busy, but Tim Stuart assured me that he'd get the bulb replaced and that I would not I needed my headlight replaced. I brought the vehicle for its first oil change and discovered I should have made an appointment. They do not have a quick lane for minor repairs or oil changes. I returned about 10 days later for my scheduled appointment. None of the service employees greeted me or even acknowledged me until I approached one of them. Finally, one of the 5 employees took my information to get the oil change started. Over two hours later I am still waiting for my vehicle. This service department can not keep up with the volume. Stay away! More

I made sure the person taking my call was Was aware I would wait. When I brought in the car they said it would be over 3 hours. I spoke to the person who was the service manager he said they were very backed up with recalls and that is they way it was( very rude) I went and spoke to the general manager to complain and he was quick to blame honda for all the work because of recall saying they are doing 100 per day. He also stated that there are ma y people who don't have appointments coming in. And they were too busy. What is the purpose for an appointment if it is not honored. This is the third encounter with service at Schaumburg honda.after purchasing 5 Hondas and the poor service from the dealer I will never buy another honda More

Within a week the Tire Pressure sensor for a rear wheel went on twice and the check engine light went on. We had the codes checked- 16 of them. Multiple misfires amongst others. Are you kidding me!!! They pushed the Carfax which showed that they had worked on this vehicle at all the recommended service miles. How did you not know if was misfiring then? Left several messages to return our call, after 26 hours we finally received a call back. There response, "Well, you bought a used car. We don't have a magic crystal ball to tell us when the engine is going to have troubles." "You will have to take it to get a diagnostic test and then send it to your extended warranty. We'll make sure to push your papers through." They never once explained to us about the Run-flat (PAX) tires either. I paid quite a bit for this used vehicle. This is horrible customer service. I will not buy from them again!! I may never buy a Honda again either. More
