A miserable experience from start to finish. A permanent tag was not ordered until I called the dealership 5 days before the temp tag was set to expire. No one from Scenic followed up with me A permanent tag was not ordered until I called the dealership 5 days before the temp tag was set to expire. No one from Scenic followed up with me about the tag, so that resulted in an unnecessary trip to the license plate agency to sort the problem. The staff at the license plate agency informed me that the tag was ordered the day that I called. I then had to make an unnecessary trip to the dealership to get the tag because there was not enough time to get it via mail. I am still waiting on an account to be set up at Chase Bank. Please remove my name and contact information from your database. I will not be back when this lease expires in 3 years. More
I love the respect as a single mature woman how my sales lady treated me. She listen and answered my questions in details. I would highly recommend Sherry Stanley to my friends and family. Brad and Justin made our buying experience stress free. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the market for a vehicle was in and out promptly didn’t have to spend all day there waiting to do paperwork. The wife & I bought a used 2010 Subaru from J&R Auto in State Road, NC, that came with a three month warranty that was supposed to 100% cover major mechanical flaws. After a few weeks of driving, the car w State Road, NC, that came with a three month warranty that was supposed to 100% cover major mechanical flaws. After a few weeks of driving, the car would frequently cut off when it stopped. Against our better judgment, we took it to the nearest dealership for warranty service. They said it was the timing belt and would cost $3,000 to fix. The warranty company got involved, and after much stressful and time-consuming negotiations, that number dropped to $2k and took a month to complete. When it was all back together again, they "tested" it for several days, only to find that the head gasket was now blown, so that took another several weeks of negotiation with the warranty company (who only ended up paying about 15% of the repairs) and another $1,000. When we finally got the car back it had the same problem, so we took it back ... again. There was apparently much face-palming in the service department, yet this time it was the transmission, which would cost a whopping $8,000 to fix. Considering we'd paid $7,000 for the car and had already invested $3,000 in repairs, we decided against further work and asked how much they'd take for it in trade. It's a very clean vehicle with new tires and practically new everything else. They told us it was worth (wait for it!) $500 in trade. Yes, I mean five hundred dollars. We picked it back up the next day. I guess we'll drive it until it blows up or whatever, but it'll be a cold day in **** before I do any more business with Scenic Subaru, J&R Auto, etc. When we inquired at what point the "Subaru Service Experts" would take responsibility for not fixing the issue after supposedly stripping the car down two separate times, we were told the timing belt caused a cascade of engine malfunctions. The only good thing I can say about their service department is they gave us practically brand-new loaner Subarus - basically ipads on wheels - to drive while all this went on, and they were very nice to my wife while simultaneously taking $3,000 to not fix our car, so there's that - you can expect a reach-around and a friendly smile? Never ever ever sign the bill of sale unless everything agreed is captured in writing. I found a mistake on the agreed upon price v. that on the official bill of sale and we were offered a service plan to agreed is captured in writing. I found a mistake on the agreed upon price v. that on the official bill of sale and we were offered a service plan to offset the discrepancy rather than updating the contracts…Apparently what I understood as an agreement was a “might” happen and I pursued for 6 months to find out that both my wife and I “misunderstood” them. We’ve Bought a number of cars and the experience is usually pretty standard, but can’t put a price on integrity. I’m an advocate of spending money locally, but in this instance…may be worth the drive to Winston-Salem More
