Purchased used truck Purchased used Chevy Colorado with 5500 miles on it from Sarasota ford. I was comfortable purchasing it slightly used as it is still well within the m Purchased used Chevy Colorado with 5500 miles on it from Sarasota ford. I was comfortable purchasing it slightly used as it is still well within the manufacturers warranties. As soon as I took it on the highway on my way home I realized there was a problem with it shaking. Contacted the dealership after a couple days of noticing the problem repeatedly and they told me to bring it back. They had it for half and hour and then told me it just needed to be balanced and that they drove it on the highway and it was fixed. Immediately noticed it shaking again on my way home. I told them that was the case and their response was that their general manager suggested I “drive it hard for a couple of weeks because it had probably just been sitting for a while” and see if the shaking goes away. I refused and they agreed to send it to Chevy to be repaired, as it is under warranty. They had my truck for a week without giving me an update. I asked for an update and they told me they haven’t heard anything from Chevy. Another full week went by again with no updates. I asked for information about what was going on with my truck and also asked where it had been sent so I could look into it myself. They didn’t tell me when or where they sent my truck and said that Chevy, whichever one it was, was replacing the torque converter. Another week went by with no updates and then they finally told me my truck was back. I went to pick up my truck and it had no paperwork for the service that was done on it. They ran around the dealership naming different people and saying they had it for 30 minutes before finally telling me they didn’t have any documentation for the service done on it I have requested documentation on the repair 4 separate times now and still have yet to receive paperwork showing what service was performed in my truck. I will never again purchase a vehicle from Sarasota Ford, as it appears that they are in the business of selling vehicles with major mechanical defects despite claiming they put them through a 109 point safety check. They are also horrible at keeping you informed on the status of you vehicle when you take it to them for problems. Would highly reccomend nobody purchase a vehicle from this dealership. More
