Another truly great experience. I noticed a troubling change in my 4Runner. I’m the 2nd owner of an awesome 1999 Toyota 4Runner. I love this car. I will never not own a Toyota. I have always had SC Toyota care for it and all of its age related needs thus far. I didn’t have an appointment. I rolled up to the service department and first spoke with a guy named Dave, I’ve seen him before. You could tell by the way he listened to me and my descriptions that he already new what was wrong with the car. Maybe even two things wrong. He welcomed me into the building and introduced me to Aaron. Aaron got me set up in the system and they told me the possibles of what wrong with my suv and possible expenses. Really nice people. I felt confident up front about the potential costs and what not. Dave mentioned the car would be spending a night or two, he offered my a ride home with one of their courtesy drivers, so convenient. Before that he told me about their complimentary coffee bar and pastries, what a nice lobby, what a good latte and the best chocolate croissant I’ve ever had, no kidding. I received text communications all along the way with info, updates and a link for a driver to pick me up from my home to take me back to SC Toyota. I was thrilled upon picking up my car. I knew it was going to be like new again. I asked if Mark or Dan had worked on the vehicle as they had done before and yes they had, lucky me. I feel that SC Toyota is truly wonderful, they have really great knowledgeable employees that have been there for years and years, I would know. Thank you SC Toyota Service Department! Thank you! First, I was told to come for service, but they didn’t have the necessary part available. It would be waste of time, if I didn’t check with the Parts department. Second, I was told that the repair woul have the necessary part available. It would be waste of time, if I didn’t check with the Parts department. Second, I was told that the repair would take longer, because it was a recall. Does it make sense? Eventually they agreed to do it within 2 hours, while I was waiting. Third, because of the recalled defect—broken cable securing the spare wheel—the spare wheel was lost. Yet I was told that it is not going to be replaced as a part of recall repairs. When I asked why, I was told that I could still be having the wheel and just could want another spare one. On the positive side, they were able to complete the repair in two hours as was promised, and the waiting room was comfortable and good for me to do some work done online. I still would appreciate receiving the spare wheel, which was lost due to defective cable. More
