Pur salesman. The finance manger hard NO! I traded a 2022 KIA Telliride SX 15,000 miles for a 2020 Tahoe. Had $7,262.00 to put down from my trade in. Purchased an extended warranty for $3250.00 from the down payment. Purchased the vehicle and came home. The next day we put it on the lift in our shop and it was eat up from front end to rear end with rust. Took it back the next day and explained about the rust and how it had 2 previous owners that I found from paperwork in the glove box and was told it had one owner! I asked for my Kia back and was told by the finance manager I couldn’t get it back only to find out from other dealerships that I could have because all the finance manager had to do was reverse the sale. Instead I was told I had to choose another car from their lot so I ended up with a vehicle I did not want. Would not even give me my down payment to put down on the other vehicle I was being forced to buy and was told I could use the extended warranty as down payment of $3,250. I have been trying to find out who I need to contact about this and came up on this page. Any help in speaking to someone would be appreciated along with a number. I am in NC. Would just like my down payment back and to keep this from happening to someone else at this dealership. More

There are a few things we didn't like. 1) They automatically added a lowjack fee to the price of the vehicle. 2) They initially offered me a higher interest loan. I had to ask them to compare the rate with Coastal Federal Credit Union before they asked their favorite bank for a lower interest rate. 3) I still haven't gotten my login information for lowjack from the salesperson. The experience was terrible. This cause the car to pour oil out of the breather cap when the salesman backed the care over a curb. This was my first mistake on this car purchase. The service tech brought the car around for me and the salesman to view and said everything was fine. We drove the car and it seemed to perform well. The salesman let me take the car home to show my wife. After arriving at home I looked the car over and smelled antifreeze coolant. I could not see any fluid but it had that smell. When I arrived back to the dealership I informed the salesman about the issue and he said it was where the tech had sprayed the cars engine compartment after the oil had leaked out in the engine bay. This is also my mistake and should have taken the car to a Chevy dealership prior to purchase but I did not. There was huge mix up in the agreed upon price and it was not explained in a way that made sense to me once the final numbers came from the sales manager office. We had agreed on a price for my trade but that is not what was displayed on the loan papers. After a unfriendly exchange with the sales-manager and the salesman I backed out of the deal. It was only after the salesman came out and explained the numbers and showed how and why there was a discrepancy in the final total that I understood but finished the purchase. After taking the car home the next day I did take the car to the Chevy dealership and had it checked out. The mechanic there discovered that the car had recently bottomed out and hit the supports for the radiator in the front of the cars engine bay and that is why I smelled antifreeze. There is a leak on the radiator and it needs to be replaced. I informed the salesman at Sanford imports and he told me to send the repair invoice. I did and never heard back from the dealership. They never called me or reached out over this issue. I called several times but nobody responded. Their attitude while at the dealership during the purchase was very fast food like and very unprofessional. I moved forward with the deal because of the amount they gave me for my trade and because of the unique serial number corvette that I had been searching for, they had. I will have to now move forward with legal actions with this dealsership to have the COrvette repaired. It was very evident that the car had been damaged by someone driving over a curb or bottoming out the car. You can see fresh marks on the subframe. This is very ufortunate as this car buying experience now leaves a bad taste in my mouth and distrust for used car dealerships. I will spread the word to all in my community to be aware of the bad practices at Sanford Imports. Lessons learned have the car checked out by another dealership, if it smeels like a bad deal walk away, be aware of young salesman who don't have knowledge about the cars they are selling, agree in writing about the numbers before going into the finace booth. Don't let the shiny car cloud your decision making process, I did and made a mistake but the dealership is responsible for not disclosing the damage to the car and not following up with the customer after the purchase.
