The cream ALWAYS rises to the top!! I very rarely take the time to write reviews but I felt it very necessary to make the effort in this instance. I was a claimant in the recent Audi die I very rarely take the time to write reviews but I felt it very necessary to make the effort in this instance. I was a claimant in the recent Audi diesel scandal and I decided to have Audi buy the car back. I wanted to move into a plug-in to save on fuel costs and all obvious perks and rebates. I chose the Kia Optima with tech package. My first stop was to Concord Kia where Johnny Rocket was friendly but he tried to really capitalize on my inexperience and took advantage of it by offering me a HORRIBLE lease package and he made out that the car I wanted was the only one available in the area . Since I was so green, I was offered a lease with an UNHEARD of downpayment of $6700 and sizable monthly payment. I should have done better research, so I decided to do a little more digging. I actually bought the car and signed all paperwork BUT I DID NOT TAKE DELIVERY. Since I was approved through Kia Leasing, I decided to check out other dealerships and I started by speaking directly to the finance and sales managers. I posed the same statement to both and that was, "I am already approved through Kia give me your best lease offer right out the gate and I will go with the lowest bid" The first dealership I called was Nicholas Park Kia in San Leandro. I spoke to Nick C and I asked him what his absolute best package was and he BLEW THE OTHER KIA DEALERSHIP out of the water within minutes. I had forewarned him that I am shopping with other dealerships and if they could beat it, I was going to the lower bidder. This young man showed much integrity and he put his money where his mouth is, he cut my downpayment in half AND lowered my payment. He even sent me the proposal which many dealers refuse because they obviously don't want you price shopping. He didn't care he knew no one would beat what he offered. My final conversation was with the Finance Manager at Stevens Creek, and his name was Mark. Unfortunately, he was the classic stereotypical car salesman. I asked for his best shot and I explained that as a tenured sales professional myself, I do not like to be sold, I just wanted his best offer because he only had the one shot. Once he gave me the "offer", I politely thanked him. He stopped me and asked if we had a deal and I told him no because I had gotten a better proposal elsewhere and OF COURSE he started back pedaling and doing that unnecessary song and dance of how he was gonna put his job on the line, but he would drop lower to meet the price. At the beginning of the conversation he mentioned his general manager was in the room with him, two minutes in he said he had to go ask his GM. It was a ton of game playing that I simply prefer not to deal with. I really wanted to make a relationship with a dealer where I would be comfortable taking my car there for servicing and where I could return and purchase future vehicles. Of the three dealerships, I would go back to Nick and the crew at Nicholas Park Kia every single time. He was honest and played no games, he came out the gate with an offer I couldn't refuse. He was a super straight shooter and I really value that highly. His boss Allen was tough but he is really a softy on the inside. He was really sweet and threw in maintenance too! I wanted to write a comparative review because I felt it would be most helpful. Concord was kind but they really tried to take advantage of me. I should have done better research so I won't fault them for that. Stevens Creek was extremely slimy. After all of Mark's game playing, and after I made it clear that I would not even purchase a Matchbox car from them, they had two new salespeople call me on two seperate occasions and they acted like they had no idea that I had already said no and that I meant it. I don't have time to play games and that's why I chose Nick. I will answer any questions and supply photos of my new automobile if necessary. This review is NOT about sending clients to Nicholas Park this is simply my experience. More
