SF Honda's service department is uneven in terms of service quality. Although the service reps are clearly customer-oriented, but their ability to manage customer expectations in terms of service wait service quality. Although the service reps are clearly customer-oriented, but their ability to manage customer expectations in terms of service wait times is spotty at best. I believe this may be due to the sheer volume of service demands their technicians face each day. It seems I can never bring my car in for routine maintenance without it taking at least 3-4 hours (at best), even when I'm the first to arrive for a morning appointment. Oil changes typically take an entire morning, and other standard maintenance issues can take even longer. For example, a recent routine software update took a full 8 hours to complete because of what I believe was a failure of the service department to deal with software "upload" and "connectivity" issues at the dealer's site, resulting in my car being put in a corner of the lot until I brought it to their attention. No one kept me in the loop on what was going on until I contacted my service rep, who was busy attending to other vehicles and only then reprioritized my vehicle. This type of thing is unfortunately typical at this location. I believe both the technicians and service reps need better training in basic communications and customer protocols, and management needs to do a better job of managing overall operational efficiencies with their entire teams. I have been a loyal Acura owner for at 15+ years now, and LOVE my cars (MDX, RDS, and now ADX). But Acura's service standards will need to drastically improve if they want customers like myself to keep coming back in the future. More
