Went to auto show in DC and was very impressed with the Subaru. Decided to visit the cars we were interested in buying or leasing. First stop and last stop was Subaru. My wife and I recently purchased a 2014 Subaru Outback from Brown's Subaru of Manassas, and it was the best car buying experience either of us have ever had. Every person involved deserves our thanks and appreciation for going above and beyond! A family member told me about Brown's Subaru of Manassas, highly recommending that I contact Patrick Hall, the General Manager whom they had worked with previously. They specifically recommended a salesman for us, Saugata "Babu" Mukherjee. I contacted “Babu” and we scheduled a time to test drive a 2014 Outback on Friday Jan 17, 2014. Babu was professional and knowledgeable. Rather than feel pressured, his easy-going personality put us at ease and was a wonderful breath of fresh air. I had a number of questions about the car, trade-in process, extended warranty, etc. and Babu was able to explain everything clearly and with ease. Never once did we feel as though we were being "sold' a car, rather, Babu made it really comfortable for us to want to buy the car from Brown's. Babu allowed us to feel out the car while both of us test drove it and best of all, he was very patient with us the whole time! To be honest, Subaru Outback's sell themselves, but Babu made you want to buy it from him and the Brown's Dealership because of how easy and smooth he made the whole process. I'm so glad he was our salesman that day. Thank you again, Babu! Eric Demby (General Sales Manager) helped us get a fantastic and uncompromising trade value for our 2010 Forester, which allowed us to place a nice down payment for our first family car. This part of the process can be tedious and at times stressful. However, Eric and Babu were very reasonable and generous to us. After my wife and I got the exact amount we planned on for our trade-in (I know this doesnt happen often, but when it does it’s a blessing!) we both walked over to Eric and shook his hand, my wife even hugged him! We were so excited that our first Brown's experience was going so nicely and without any hiccups. Eric then joined our table where Babu was working out some paperwork for us and explaining our manual and warranties. Eric was really nice and down to earth. We got to know each other, sharing stories about our families (expecting a baby) and the joys of child-rearing :-). It was easy to see how much Eric enjoyed his job and wanted us to feel comfortable with our new family purchase. He even took the time to demonstrate each of the features on the Outback in the showroom car displayed inside the dealership, (including the carseat access in the back seats) as we waited for the finance manager to call us in for our signing. Eric took the time to do so even after the dealership had already closed for the night! Thank you! At that point, Mehdi Amal (Finance Director) called us in for our signing. As he stepped out for a moment, my wife and I held hands and prayed that our monthly payment would fit within our new baby-friendly budget that we had previously agreed upon. I’m so pleased to say that Mehdi (based on Patrick’s instructions), worked with us to get us a fantastic APR and a monthly payment within our budget. He also offered us some fantastic extended warranties. Mehdi worked with us on the numbers and not only did we stay within our budget, we are paying less per month on our new car than we were on our trade-in! My wife and I combined, have owned 5 Subarus and this is our first Outback together. When we decided to trade in our Forester we never expected such a smooth experience. In other words; Subaru's are our cars of choice and its always a good thing to find a local dealership really that knows what they are doing, works with such professionalism and excellence, and treats their customers like family! This is how you make returning customers; I’ll continue to recommend Brown's Subaru of Manassas to anyone interested in purchasing a new car! More

I had visited the week before for my 'recon' visit and I called Kevin and told him that I was ready to move forward with a purchase. When I arrived, the car was waiting by the door, cleaned and ready to roll. All we had to do was the paper work, which Kevin had all prepared. Car buying has been a process I've always associated with headaches, but Gabriel and the rest of the team at Brown's Subaru has set a new standard. I tortured the staff with several test drives spread over 3 days and a barrage of detailed questions - Gabriel had the answer to each question and was able to compare different models and trims for me quickly and succinctly. I never once felt pressured to buy... normally dealers don't want to let you leave the showroom for fear that you'd never come back. I came three times before buying and they were totally fine with that. The negotiations were pleasant as well - we were able to reach a deal that everyone could agree upon with relative ease. In fact, after we'd signed the paperwork they realized there was a promotion that could save us another few dollars and quickly had us re-sign to save us the few extra dollars. Any dealership that takes the time to save you a few bucks even after the paperwork is signed is an honest dealership (and one I'll visit again)! I'd also like to emphasize the route they take you on for a test drive; with stretches of road where you reach above 50mph where you can really feel how a car handles at speed. It's a little detail, but extremely important. Be sure to ask for Gabe when you visit Brown's Manassas Subaru. He took great care of us and made sure we left the lot with everything customized and setup exactly how we wanted. His knowledge of the vehicles is great and he's got a wonderful personality. About a year ago I bought my 2013 WRX Premium from Meredith. I really enjoyed the car until I had the one in a million chance of blowing the engine at 4XXX miles. I contacted roadside assistance and they showed up timely and I also alerted the dealer so they knew I would be coming by. Trish and Shelley were very pleasant to work with and quickly put me into a loaner. They called me the next day with the diagnosis which was putting in a new bottom end. After the work was done the car was like new. Some time passed and i noticed some smoke from the tailpipes. I contacted Meredith and she had me bring it back down and put me into a different loaner. At this point I was visibly upset at the situation. The next day the diagnosis came back and they needed to replace the turbo. I contacted Subaru of North America and explained what happened as did the dealership. The damage was not due to anything I did nor the dealer, it was just a lemon. At this point I wanted a new car because these problems were to severe to deal with and all my confidence in the vehicle was gone. While my car was being worked on Meredith and I met with Eric to discuss what Headquarters had decided. I really didn't like the initial offer they had made. Meredith and Eric then went back to Headquarters and went above and beyond. When I went to go pick up my car when it was done I was pleasantly surprised. I was given the option for the dealership to buy my car back at the end of the month and they would put me into a 2013 WRX Limited they had coming in. In addition they allowed me to either drive my car or a loaner until the new car came in. Though all of this did take some time to reach this point the buy back was very smooth and the dealer treated me very well. I have since thoroughly enjoyed my new WRX and all of my confidence has been restored. I know my situation is abnormal and not what you want when you buy your first new car, but the dealership did a fantastic job recognizing it and accommodating me. Meredith still contacts me to make sure everything is going well with this one. More
Never believe anything they tell you. We came to the dealership with the intent on trading in our 2011 Outback to purchase the 2014 Forester. They offered us $21.8k trade-in value on the 2011. We showed them their postcard with a guarantee for $22.5k. They came back and told us it really wasn't guaranteed and that the top of the line tow hitch disqualified us from this price----and then kept the postcard. They countered with $21k. We eventually sold the car to CarMax for $24k. The story doesn't end here. They told us the value of our warranty was $2.1K and then made us jump through hoops to get a statement from the finance company that the loan was paid off. We had bought the car from them and used their finance company. They could have accepted the title that said it was paid off. They could have accepted the sales agreement from CarMax. Instead, we jumped through their hoops. When they finally cut the check, they had shorted us $300. It is far easier to deal with straight forward dealerships that don't play "used car" tricks, like the salesman listening in on our conversation and reporting the conversation to management. Bottom line, I do not recommend dealing with Brown's Subaru of Manassas, VA until they change the management. I DO NOT hold the salesman responsible for the bad experience, since we had actually bought our first car from him and trust him. We eventually bought at Orange Park Subaru in Jacksonville, FL (near our vacation home). It was only $154 airplane ride. They followed through with everything they said they would do. More

Meredith met us as we pulled up and our first impression was we were being treated like a valued guest. My daughter took the test drive and Meredith made her feel very comfortable. We explained that we wanted to go look at another vehicle, and the staff and Meredith understood and let us know we were welcome back and there was no pressure to have to buy from them. Well, we never quite made it to Richmond since the vehicle we sought to look at had been sold so we went to another dealer in Fairfax and walked in their showroom floor and automatically felt as if we were prey to be hunted for a sale of a vehicle we didn't want. Being fed up with the high pressure tactics of the Fairfax dealership (Not Brown's by the way), my daughter decided she wanted to go back to Brown's Manassas Subaru and we concluded our deal with Meredith and Lance for the Hyundai Tucson we had looked at earlier in the day. Comparing the two different dealerships from our experience, we felt like a valued member and guest in buying the vehicle we came to look at. NO PRESSURE...FRIENDLY...INTERESTED IN OUR NEEDS.
