Only Mazda dealer in the Northern Virginia area to work seriously with me on the price and options. Took note of my position and met it with an honest response. Got exactly the car I wanted with the extr seriously with me on the price and options. Took note of my position and met it with an honest response. Got exactly the car I wanted with the extras at very little additional cost. Total in dealer time was less than 90 minutes. Left with a new car, fully gassed, washed, Virginia tags and no complaints at all. I would come back again anytime I needed to. More
General Manager Trey Rodgers requested that we write a review of our experience. It really wasn't very good. No, that's too nice, it sucked. We were referred to Brown's Fairfax Mazda by the Navy Federa review of our experience. It really wasn't very good. No, that's too nice, it sucked. We were referred to Brown's Fairfax Mazda by the Navy Federal Credit Union buying program. This program was supposed to save us money and speed up the purchase process. It didn't work out that way. They whole crew at Brown's Fairfax Mazda is very nice - I can't complain about that. Fast, they are not. They are incredibly slow. They also don't seem very interested in selling cars. We thought we had a deal with them and we signed all the paperwork, the loan application, signed over the title on our trade-in (this was after spending almost 6 hours in their showroom . . . . did I mention they are slow?). A couple of days later they called us to say they couldn't sell us the car because it had been damaged on the lot. They didn't seem very interested in finding us another car - I ended up doing the inventory searches and found several prospects but they were not interested in making a deal. Two days later we went to Rosenthal Arlington Mazda (at 6:30 on a Friday evening) and drove out before 10PM in the vehicle we wanted with a better deal than anything we even discussed with Browns. I should add this is the second time I have had this kind of experience with Brown's and the ONLY reason we went there this time was due to the referral from the Navy Federal Program. The Navy Fed program got us a discount of $380 off MSRP - that is not much of a deal on a Mazda. Rosenthal Arlington Mazda was able to give us a substantially better deal and we didn't have to sit around for 6 hours while they played the "manager" game. One funny part of the experience with Brown's is that the Salesman, Sales Manager, and General Manager apparently don't understand the automated customer contact (e-mail) system they have. Even though the deal fell through and we walked out, we keep getting e-mails thanking us for our business, congratulating us on our purchase, and inviting us to leave feedback at a variety of sites (even providing links for our convenience). Another illustration of how clueless they are. If you want to spend all day seeing how and why the automobile dealer business gets a bad name, head over to Brown's Fairfax Mazda. If you want to buy a car quickly and get a good deal, head down to Rosenthal Arlington Mazda. More
After trying a different Brown's Mazda (and having a less than pleasant experience) I was going to write off Brown's dealerships all together. Based on convenience of location I tried one more Brown's a less than pleasant experience) I was going to write off Brown's dealerships all together. Based on convenience of location I tried one more Brown's and was put in touch with Renee Harrison. He was straightforward, honest, and stuck to the deal he promised me (which is more than I would say for Brown's Alexandria). I appreciated Renee saving my first new car buying experience and have already recommended two friends (to Renee) who are looking at getting the same vehicle as me. More
I don’t buy new cars that often, maybe in the 8 years since my last purchase things have changed and all dealers are like this now. Salesman was very nice and helpful, but, BEWARE of the finance guy. H since my last purchase things have changed and all dealers are like this now. Salesman was very nice and helpful, but, BEWARE of the finance guy. He tried to tell me that I only qualified for a high rate of financing, BUT, if I bought his extended warranty he could “buy down” my rate (like it’s a mortgage or something, WHICH IT’S NOT) and get me a lower rate. This is a scam! Google it, apparently it’s a common one. It’s not technically illegal, but it’s definitely extremely sleazy and dishonest. HAVE A LOAN QUOTE FROM A BANK OR CREDIT UNION BEFORE EVEN THINKING ABOUT USING THERE FINANCING. When I took position of the car a small item was broken, I called the dealership and am basically getting the run around about having it fixed. They very begrudgingly agreed to take care of it, but I guess it’s my fault for thinking a new car should be sold with everything in working order. In short, you can look there, the sales staff is helpful and the test drive was fine BUT DO NOT BUY THERE!!! There are way too many Mazda dealers around to give these guys the business. AGAIN.. BUT DO NOT BUY THERE!!! More
Bought all of my Mazdas from Brown's Fairfax Mazda after one disasterous experience at another dealership. Darren, the sales manager, is on top of every deal and ensures the best possible price and follow-on service contracts. Dave is the new car service guy, and Mike is the used car service guy; I use them both all the time and deeply, deeply appreciate their kindness, thoroughness, and attention to detail. I have complete trust and confidence that when they oversee service to my wife's new Mazda or my used Mazda, I am getting the best possible care for the lowest possible price. Sure, those "quick oil change" places might be convenient, but nothing comes close to the confidence I get when I know that Dave or Mike has seen to the overall care and maintenance of my wife's car or my car. I would never consider buying a car from anyone else, and I most certainly would never consider entrusting the care of my cars to anyone but Dave or Mike. Pete Gustin Annandale, VA More
This was the most horrible buying experience I have ever had. After a lengthy negotiation for a 2012 Mazda 3 I had an agreement with Brown's sales manager. Over an hour latter when all the paperwork was don had. After a lengthy negotiation for a 2012 Mazda 3 I had an agreement with Brown's sales manager. Over an hour latter when all the paperwork was done the finance manager insisted on a higher price. Brown's wasted my entire day with their stupid games. Brown is the color of used toilet paper and used toilet paper is a good description of this dealership. More
AJ was great -- very patient, followed through quickly on our questions and request. A pleasure to deal with. I would recommend him to a friend who is interested in buying a Mazda automobile.
