Took my vehicle in July 2024 for a vibration problem at a high speed. They said I needed new tires, breaks and rotors. Spent $1200 and replaced what they said needed because I was driving to Fl in the next c high speed. They said I needed new tires, breaks and rotors. My vibration problem was fixed but that was due to my replacing the tires. After we got back from Fl my breaks started squeaking really bad the longer I drove it and used them. I called them back after that and ended up taking my vehicle back twice after that regarding the squeaking and both times they had my vehicle all day and then told me they couldn’t hear it and that if they couldn’t see anything wrong then nothing could be fixed. They didn’t try to change anything out to see if that was the problem. So the last time I called and complained was Oct 2024 because what’s the point when they tell me it’s normal and I’m without a vehicle another day. Here it is April 2025 and I can’t take the noise anymore. It’s bad when I use my breaks soft or hard. I ended up taking it to a different shop and he removed all 4 tires to look at everything. My front rotors already had new grooves in them from the new break pads having metal pieces showing and rubbing from only 8mo and 6000 miles put on my vehicle, which now I have to spend money to replace them all again in the front because they didn’t want to make the customer satisfied and try other alternatives. I sent a message to you guys yesterday and Janelle called me back. She had an attitude and shouldn’t have spoken to any customer like she was doing. You are in a customer service position, do better. She basically told me that the problems I came in with was the same problems I’m having now and that my driving and mileage was the cause. She wouldn’t take any responsibility for anything nor admitted they could’ve did anything different. So what I got from her is that every 6000 miles, which is every oil change, I should need to replace my rotors as well. That’s ridiculous and maybe she needs to better educate herself before talking to an ex customer. Good thing there is another Chevy dealer in town. More
UPDATE: After 20 days and a "repair" they still did not fix it. It went to Friendly Chevrolet and they repaired it within a few days and it's actually fixed correctly. S and K had my BRAND NEW truck in its service department for TWENTY DAYS to "rebuild differential". I was told that I could not have a loaner vehicle because I didn't buy my truck from that particular dealership. S/K were informed that I use my truck for my line of work. They did not care. In the past, I have purchased 2-3 trucks from S/ K in Spfld. I purchased this new truck at Laura GMC in Collinsville, IL because S/K Springfield had no GMC Canyons. If you provide warranties for vehicles, you should provide the same amenities for all customers under warranty, not just those that purchased at that particular dealership. Timeline: 3/23/23 Dropped truck off and part was ordered. Dealership took the truck apart. It was then completely undriveable. Was told the part would arrive 3/27 or 3/28 and it would be repaired then. 3/28, called the dealership and was told 3/30 or 3/31 will be ready. 3/30, called late in the day and was told by Phil (service manager) that the order for my part was cancelled and they cannot re-order for the same parts? Huh?? 3/31 my wife called and spoke to the GM at the dealership, Jim Kroll. Jim is on board with no loaner vehicle and has no answers. 4/4/23, called the dealership AGAIN and was told it will be the end of this week. 4/7, was told mid next week AND finally offered a loaner for 4/10. NINETEEN DAYS after drop off. My 2020 and 2022 Canyons had differential issues. The dealership has tried to blame me, twice! GMC incompetence has cost me over $2,000.00 in missed work because my brand new truck was now undriveable because this highly incompetent dealership took it apart with no offer of a loaner, a rental, or even a timely repair. S and K service manager has zero business running that department. Has no clue how to deal with customers. Same for Jim Kroll. Businesses fail when a manager has to always be right. More
I had to buy a car for the first time in 15 years; it was a daunting experience. After a few stressful trips to other dealerships, I ended up at S&K. I told Bart my story and what I was interested in. He did not push me into anything I didn't want. He gave me a lot of options but told me if nothing felt right, he understood. I liked that a lot. I did end up making a purchase there and couldn't be more happy. The finance manager, Bob, explained everything to me and went over my options. Bart still checks in from time to time and even helped me when a window on my vehicle got shattered a week after I bought it. I highly recommend Bart, Bob, and S&K for anyone looking for a vehicle. More
I'm very grateful for the way I was treated at S&K. MY car was in and out of the shop at S&Ok about 6 times. Rod was always very concerned and patient.
