Fantastic visit to service dept for my Jeep, Compass I know when I call and request help for me and my Jeep, I can trust the guys in the service dept. They were so great and polite and courteous to me and friend with me, I was stunned. They got the job done in amount of time said and now my Jeep drives like new. We were given a ride home to Delano so not have to spend 3 or so hours in dealer store. What a nice young man and I wish I could remember his name. Brought us home at noon. Recent service experience at Ryan Automall My Jeep Cherokee was in for warranty work (cylinder head) and two additional recalls for six days, and then after pickup I had to return again the nex My Jeep Cherokee was in for warranty work (cylinder head) and two additional recalls for six days, and then after pickup I had to return again the next day after Jeep was not operating properly. Initial contact was good and scheduled a day when a courtesy vehicle would be available. Picked up the vehicle after "completion" on Tuesday and was able to get all the way to Rockford before realizing things weren't right with the engine. Called next morning, Erik told me to stop back in and they would take a look at the check engine light returning. Said if he wasn't available, ask for Matt. Stopped back in that afternoon and they spent an hour plus making the final repairs. There was certainly frustration with being told the Jeep was ready and then finding out the truck was not operating properly. This happens, I get it. I was told they were working on a "miss" the last day and thought it was a bad spark plug. Although the issue with the engine was most identifiable while in gear and at idle (although it got more intensive as you drove it). Not sure this was test drove or just trying to figure it out in the shop. Regardless it cost me another roundtrip to Buffalo and canceling plans for the following afternoon. Couple of suggestions/observations: Would have been helpful to tell me what I needed for the courtesy/rental vehicle (driver's license and proof of insurance). Had to scramble to locate the insurance information and was in a hurry so it would have been nice to know ahead of time and it would have saved me time. Service writing is a tough job as I've done it myself. That said, the customer service aspect is key to an experience and loyalty to a brand and location. My dealings with Erik were good. My interactions with Matt were not. A voice mail from Matt on Monday evening, my returning of the courtesy vehicle and picking up my Jeep from Matt on Tuesday and the bringing back of my Jeep for the completion of the job on Wednesday and stepping out of the car with Matt on Wednesday was not a pleasant experience. In all three cases I felt like I was an annoyance or interrupting his day. There were awkward side conversations to employees (I get he is the service manager) while standing with him and again I didn't feel there was much appreciation (I get it was warranty work) for my business. Hopefully this was just a bad few days or maybe I caught him at the wrong time on these three days. More
