I recently bought a used 09 Ford Escape and the test drive went If you buy a used car make sure to bring your own code reader before the sale is made. I recently bought a used 09 Ford Escape and the test drive went fine. A few weeks after the purchase I took it in for the emissions test and it failed due to the sensors not being ready. This dealership cleared the dashboard and saved the codes so I wouldn't know during the test drive that the engine light was on and the vehicle needed expensive repairs estimated over $800. After the oil change the check engine light went on and 2 codes were revealed. My VVT solenoid and fuel inlet needed replacement. We called Russ Darrow and spoke to the used car manager and he said we should have spend 3 grand on their maintenance warranty package. They offered nothing to help us and told us we could bring it to them and they could fix it but at full price. Once the sale is made they don't care about the customer satisfaction they just want your money. They were very rude on the phone and constantly said they would call us back and never did. Basically they said it our our problem now not theirs. I am furious that they reset the dashboard so I bought a vehicle unknowing it had issues. The vehicle died after only having it for 4 weeks on my way to work one morning. I thought I was buying a reliable vehicle and had I known the check engine light was on I never would have purchased it. I wonder how many other vehicles they have sold and cleared the sensors so customers wouldn't know a check light was on. I will never go there again for anything as they are untrustworthy and will tamper with the vehicle just to make a sale. More
