Bait and switch advertising I called the Russ Darrow Kia dealership to see if a new SUV I saw online on their website was still available. I spoke with Carman who is their Online I called the Russ Darrow Kia dealership to see if a new SUV I saw online on their website was still available. I spoke with Carman who is their Online Sales Person. She said it was still available and asked someone near-by to verify and they did confirm it was. I asked if the online price was firm or if there was room for negotiation. She said the price was firm and the Online sales price of this specific vehicle was the price for this vehicle. I said great, this is what I am looking for, but I am about 4 hours away so I wanted to see what financing promotions were available if any before I came down or put money down. She said she would have their floor manager call me with specifics before I drove all the way over with the options available to me. She called back about 30 minutes later and said that they were adding a dealership up charge for this vehicle of $3,000.00, plus an extra $599.00 for protection coverage. I said that is a deal breaker for sure and how come you didn't list that on the website. She made some comment that they were just deciding to do that. I said thanks anyhow and hung up. I thought about it and figured I must of misunderstood, that she was talking about taxes and fees in that amount, so I called back. She said, no I heard correctly, since their was high demand, they decided to increase the price by $3,000.00 and they always add the protection package. I said if you always add it, why isn't it listed at all in any way on the website? She didn't say anything, and I repeated the same for the increase, especially $3,000! That is a scam and I am going to review it as such. She just said, do you want to talk to my manager? I said yes, but after holding for 5 minutes, I hung up. I went back and looked 30 minutes later and the price still wasn't changed, so I took screen shots of it and am going to report it to the AG and consumer protection. If they are this dishonest before you even by the car, I wouldn't have much faith in their customer service afterwards. I am still stunned by the call. I sure am glad I didn't started driving the 4 hours down there after finding out it was still available, thinking the most I would pay was the Online price! More

Wally & Brandon were helpful in helping us get the car we wanted. We weren't pushed into another car or upsold on things wev didn't want. I never give 5 stars - I expect companies to know the difference between ‘perfect’ and perception/consumer expectations. I know corporate setups for this and think you should lead with a 10 point system difference between ‘perfect’ and perception/consumer expectations. I gave 4 for the dealership as I’ve had issues with service Dept in the past. My deal was handled exactly the way i asked. Rebecca was great too - although I think they’re asked to multi-task too much as I caught a few things that were overlooked - hoping I didnt miss anything Tex (Nick by far) nailed it. COMPANY MANAGEMENT NOTE: **Plleeeeeaaaasssseeee ask for these reviews after 30 days and DO NOT put the pressure on mgmt /teams to ask/pressure for immediately after sale. It is unfair to THEM & the consumer. As an insider and consumer - this discourages further follow up afterwards and doesnt give consumer enough time to process -especially if they had to come back for further follow up!! That in itself is my main complaint with this and many other companies nowadays! I hope you take this advice to heart if you listen to your consumers. NOTE: I will never give 5 stars to anyone going forward unless you change the system. Everyone is not always 5 star! Impossible! Also—Rebecca did nothing wrong and was great - so I thank her as well -but like many I just see through how the reward system is built. More
