My 2023 Ford Bronco Sport was alerting me that there was a power train malfunction. It turns out that Ford also has an active recall for this malfunction. My 2yr old Bronco only has 10,800 miles. My warra a power train malfunction. It turns out that Ford also has an active recall for this malfunction. My 2yr old Bronco only has 10,800 miles. My warranty should cover the repair, even without the recall. A couple of days after leaving my car for repair, I received an email from the dealership stating my charge to repair is $911.00. I was told that my warranty was voided because something supposedly chewed the wire. Amazing how it was the "recall issue". I didn't see any chew maks, the wire looks like it broke, but im no " rodent" expert. I called and told the service guy that I would come pick it up without repairs. He said that it wasn't safe to drive, so he would see what he could do with the price. He said how about around $800. I said I couldn't afford that, then he says what would you be able to do. He puts me on hold and comes back saying that the mechanic would take a cut on the labor, so how about $561.00. My options were pay for repair or take home a vehicle that could crash and kill me or someone else, so i had to get itrepaired. It's scary driving a vehicle that loses power while driving. Today I went to pickup my fixed vehicle and the charge showed $797.00, luckily I had printed out the email with the $561 showing. The guy that told me $561 was listening and said that was me that you spoke with let me fix that price to the $561. I paid and left. I got home and the Ford app shows charged $727.28. The invoice has the charge listed as misc, however on a different line it also shows that a recall was repaired at no charge. This whole experience is bad business. That's a total of four different prices for the same repair, how is that legal. A part cost what it cost, not what an individual wants to charge. Also if invoices can me manipulated so easily, one could take off the misc item price that I paid and it would show no money collected because it was a recall. That's an easy way for an employee to walk away with God knows how much, or a dealership could scam a customer out of money, by just saying oh your warranty is voided due to whatever reason. The mysterious "rodent ". More
