Went in last Friday to trade in my 2022 Tahoe High Country with 33,000 miles on it. After trying to initially stick me for about $20,000, we settled down to a price that was $3,000 from what I was ag Country with 33,000 miles on it. After trying to initially stick me for about $20,000, we settled down to a price that was $3,000 from what I was agreeing to. I decided to sit on it over the weekend. The following Monday Round Rock Toyota reached back out to me saying that they would take the deal I was offering but I had to make the transaction that day. It was 1pm on Monday, so I told them I was going to have to move some meetings around and get child care some my wife could bring me the vehicle, but I was going to be out there to get it done. The continued to check in on my for the next few hours to ensure that I was going to head out. After getting everything together, I texted them letting them know I was heading their way and they seemed happy about it. When I arrived and handed my sales person my ID, she went into the back office. Shortly after the manager came out and told me he had some bad news. They were going to pay me $5000 less for my trade in. These people are crooks and I would advise anyone to avoid them at all costs. If you have any questions about this, I would be more than happy to walk you through the full story, but these people tried to screw me out of $20k to begin with and then went out of their way to call my and ensure me they wanted to take my deal only to have me waste a day and over an hour of travel to say they had changed their minds. Total garbage business people. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! More

Wonderful morning to you! I have a story to tell about round rock Toyota. Maybe more specifically John-Michael, one of their employees / sales leaders. So let’s start from th I have a story to tell about round rock Toyota. Maybe more specifically John-Michael, one of their employees / sales leaders. So let’s start from the beginning, I just recently got a new job which requires me to drive from Austin to Waco and back Monday through Friday. The vehicle I have had for many years gets at best 22 miles per gallon, and although not on her last legs, I put on approximately 50+k miles a year with this new route and I don’t want to risk anything happening to my old car when I could just get a new one and save money in gas and also not have to pay for future repairs that my old vehicle would need if I tacked on 50k miles almost overnight. So, I of course started looking for more fuel efficient vehicles and settle on wanting to get a new Prius (NEW, not the old ugly ones, the new one Toyota makes looks like a straight up spaceship and practically drives itself plus they get like 60mpg if you drive them properly) Anywho, so I go to Toyota of Cedar Park, and they want an obscene amount of money over MSRP. And kept trying to sell me on everything little addition. I’ve been around the block a few times so I know what’s what, but they truly don’t budge. So I walk. Then head on over to North Austin Toyota, and talk with them, they are reasonable sure, but they just didn’t have the trim level and color I wanted in their inventory. Oof I was like dang, this whole thing may not happen, and I may just give up. And drive my old car for the next year. But I tried one more time, and made my way to Round Rock! I didn’t even go inside this time I just found the car I wanted and saw online and went to look at it in their lot. John-Michael came out to greet me and unlike the rest of the guys, I didn’t feel a single threatening/pushy salesman vibe from him. I’m pretty sure he even said “honestly man, I’ve been doing this a while, I’m here to help you view this car and do what I can. You’ll want to buy it if you want to buy it.” and that honestly was the first time I’ve seen an emotionally competent sales person in quite some time. All these other guys are hyped on their own Egos and couldn’t give a darn about you, but John-Michael really gave a darn about what I was saying and worked with me to find solutions. (It’s all about the numbers for me, I know what I could do and even through there was a bit of back and forth, he eventually understood that either we meet my numbers or I walk away, and instead of doing the classic sales guy thing, he actually listened and worked with me) I ended up spending $6,000 less than what Cedar Park and North Austin were peddling and I know this game well enough to know that Round Rock still made profit from me. But they HAVE to ya know? It’s just who is going to provide you with that humble experience and who’s going to treat you right and work with you on things without all the “in your face B.S.” If you’re looking for a truly remarkable experience where you leave feeling satisfied, and not like you never want to see the showroom floor again. Come to Round Rock, ask for John-Michael. He has control over his Ego, he doesn’t have commission breath, He won’t steer you wrong. Also!!! HUGE shout out to Peyton from their finance department, I didn’t feel pushed to buy unnecessary contracts or spend extra money. It was very cool, before we started with the paperwork I sat with him for like 20 minutes and asked questions about finance and how it all works and he was very detailed and helpful and made me feel comfortable in my purchase decision. When in doubt, come to round rock👍🏼 More

This was my go-to dealership for 6 years. I bought cars here, serviced my vehicles exclusively here, referred new Texans here for sales and service. I recently wanted to replace my 2019 Toyot I bought cars here, serviced my vehicles exclusively here, referred new Texans here for sales and service. I recently wanted to replace my 2019 Toyota Rav4 purchased here. We also have another Penske dealership vehicle we wanted to replace at RR Toyota but wanted to see how they would treat us. I wanted to buy a new Toyota Crown Insignia listing at $53+. I went to MY dealership anticipating a couple of hundred dollar discount as a 6 year customer who has referred others. No discount. No acknowledgement that I was a valued long-term customer. THey would later claim there was a miscommunication even though I sent their deal back to sales management 3 times reminding them I was along-term customer. Ultimately, I pulled my deposit for the car and wrote to management. BTW, I checked with other area Toyota dealers not tied to Roger Penske. They were willing to offer discounts and answer questions even though I was never their customer. Imagine. A side note here, if you live in any area where Gulf States Toyota supplies cars to regional dealerships in Texas and elsewhere, cars are loaded with questionable options you would not normally buy. In my case, Gulf States added $4100 worth of questionable options. Things like illuminated door sills, paint protection, etal. To add insult to injury, RR Toyota put the pressure on during the sales negotiations. They wanted me to buy another $3000 of useless options that "they really wanted me to have". A grand total of $7100 of questionable options on a $50k car. Imagine. Imagine especially if you are a long-term customer? Round Rock did come back days later, after I pulled the deposit and moved on, with a very stupid deal that made no business sense claiming there was a "miscommunication". There was no miscommunication - I was there, they were there. The deal was clear and on paper. I've heard the "miscommunication" excuse before I don't deserve it as a long-term customer. Neither do new customers deserve "miscommunications". After 6 years, I can say that their service department with but 1 manager is far more focused on long-term customers vs their sales department with a multitude of managers and assistant managers who collectively seem to not know who their customer base might be. After the fact offers and dumb statements like "miscommunication" is lazy talk in my view. Its disingenuous, self-serving and breaks trust especially with long-term customers. What is my perspective with this dealer and my sales negotiation experience? This is not my first rodeo. I've purchased 65 new cars, trucks and SUVs over the years so I have the perspective of many dealership, many a sales pitch, many sales negotiations. I do my homework before showing up. This one just wasn't right. It felt bad especially considering what other dealers offered to do for the identical car. In their service department they treat customer like valued people. Not so in the sales department. My strong advise here is there are many other Toyota dealers in the Round Rock and Austin area. Avoid RR Toyota until local management and Penske takes an interest in retaining long-term customers vs making a quick buck today. In my view this will require a major change in leadership. More
