Began my day test driving a few different vehicles at other dealerships near by. I kinda knew what I wanted, Chevy Equinox, but wanted to make sure. Prior to coming, I had done my research as to the type of vehicle I wanted, the color, and what I wanted exactly on it. I started with a salesman who was super pushy trying to get me into a vehicle that I didn't want at all (too much stuff on it AND out of my budget)! I was getting a little frustrated and in came, JR O'Grady. Thank you! Not only did he spend time getting to know me but also asked a ton of questions based likes/dislikes of options on cars as well as tons of questions as to what would put a smile on my face. He then spent time finding the exact vehicle for me. We test drove it and showed me everything that the vehicle could do (Bluetooth & navigation). I was sold...then came the really really annoying part.....financing! He and Eric were very patient and wanted to make me as happy as I could be and wasn't stressed. I couldn't have been happier working with these two individuals....made purchasing a car easier. Thanks, Krissie More
It was on New Year's Eve when we saw and chose the car we liked at John L. Sullivan. Aj quickly helped us choose a car and worked out a deal for me that I could afford and closed the deal. We drove our 2011 Cruze and started the New Year within a couple of hours :) A couple of days later we noticed there where a couple of minor chips on the windshield and a deep scratch on the car. It was dark when we saw the car the first time, so we hadn't noticed. I called Aj and expressed my concerns to him. Aj offered to fix whatever that concerned me on the same day if he could. So, we drove the car back, Aj drove the car to the repair department and they fixed everything in the best possible way while we were waiting. He also ordered a manual for the car which is already arrived at the parts department. I am very satisfied with Aj's responsive and courteous customer service and highly recommend John L. Sullivan. I was very impressed with the prompt response I received via email and phone from Jose Martinez. I can honestly say I did not expect to be contacted within minutes. I was impressed with his professionalism and relentless dedication and determination to ensure I received the best possible deal. Jose was very patient and thorough throughout the entire process. He voluntarily stayed overtime to ensure all of our needs were met. At the end of the day, we drove off the lot with an exceptional deal, easy payments and a great looking vehicle. Heath Carney is the resident EV specialist and I went to John L. Sullivan specifically to speak to him and look at new and pre-owned Volts. I felt no pressure while I looked at the cars. I knew if I had an John L. Sullivan specifically to speak to him and look at new and pre-owned Volts. I felt no pressure while I looked at the cars. I knew if I had any questions Heath was there that day to answer them. The inventory of new Volts actually on the lot was very impressive and I was amazed that there was the exact Volt I was looking for in stock. I really didn't think I would find a base Volt in the exterior and interior color I was looking for but there it was! I can't say enough good things about John L. Sullivan's commitment to the Volt. I think this is in large part due to Heath's ability to order a wide variety of options (Safety Package 1 and 2, style combo, Comfort Package, etc.) and combinations of exterior and interior colors to please a wide variety of buyers. Heath's knowledge of all things EV is also unsurpassed in the industry. I think there should be no reason for a Sacramento area customer to drive to the Bay Area to buy a volt. The dealers outside of the SMUD or PG&E central valley service area do not know about all the local incentives/electric rate packages/public charging stations etc. that are available to Sacramento area customers through the collective knowledge of Heath, the Sacramento Electric Vehicle Association and SMUD. I think you cannot find a better place in all of Northern California to buy a General Motors EV than John L. Sullivan Chevrolet. If you are shopping for any GM car, new or used, the employees at John. L. Sullivan Chevrolet are the most polite and accommodating people in the car selling business. ( I need to give a shout out to Octavio King, who helped my husband buy his Volt last year. Octavio is the very best example of a salesman that will do everything in his power for you. He helped with custom leather for my husband's Volt and he was outstanding.) If you are shopping specifically for an EV, ask for Heath. He is a walking encyclopedia of all things EV. More
This is actually the second time I have came to this exact dealership. Last new vehicle I bought last year, JLS at the Automall did not have the exact truck I was looking for. Overall I could not have been happier from every aspect of the process. I found the used vehicle I wanted to purchase online and contacted John Miller via email in which he responded in literally minutes. I talked to him on Friday and told him I was very interested int he vehicle. He took a small amount of information from me and held the vehicle until I was able to meet him on Sunday. Not sure if this is normal process or even allowed, but coming from out of town John took the extra step to ensure I was satisfied and not wasting my time to travel all the way down and the car being already sold. Either way, it was very appreciated and just took that little bit of stress of buying a vehicle off my chest. Upon arrival of the dealership it was very easy to locate and had ample parking and amenities available. The front clerk female around 1030L was very friendly and immediately got John upon my arrival in the dealership. John had the vehicle defrosted and waiting out front for us to test drive. As we took it for the test drive he allowed me to drive it a distance until I felt comfortable. (which might sound normal) but I have test drove over 5 vehicles this week and the dealers want you to stick to their specific path not allowing the full potential and speed of the vehicle. I drove until I was sold. We took the vehicle back and began to talk #'s and paperwork. This is always the most dreaded portion of the purchasing process, but John's friendly attitude and no xx attitude made the process go buy a lot faster. Both John and his leadership offered the Lojack and dent protection, and talked in detail of both of the benefits of purchasing the plans. After I explained I did not want the plans, they backed off and let it go. (unlike other dealers) The price of the vehicle was under blue book and what seemed to me as a good deal. Everyone knows it is common knowledge that the dealership will not lose money or sell a vehicle going in the hole..but with how quick and professional the staff was, its worth 500 dollars to me not to deal with an xxx. I had ample chances to say no, walk in, walk out, play the game that the "good" buyers play. Why? Its going to xxxx me off all day having to waste my time, and deal with unhappy salesman. So I did not argue the price, the price was good and to me it was worth paying the extra 500 more than I wanted to; for simple working with John and team.(+Greg in finance) John had the vehicle detailed and also through in some floor mats, beings the vehicle did not have any. How much did that cost? 10 bucks? 5 for the detail? 15 dollars out of your's or his pocket to make me feel a little better, well worth it. (continue to do this with all customers) It is getting late now, but I just wanted to say from one Veteran to another, thank you. I would purchase another vehicle again in a heart beat, but hopefully I don't need to. Thank you! James Flicker More
From the time my wife and I drove up to the time we drove off the lot with our new Equinox was about 2 and a half hours. Picked a color, took a short test drive, then began discussing what it would take to get us into that car that night. Our current vehicle's value came in a bit under what we had estimated for a trade-in, but Jose and Randy pulled some holiday incentives and calculated a monthly payment we could afford. Each employee we came across was very helpful and friendly. I would defiantly go back to buy another vehicle or recommend a friend. More
