No hassel negotiations and very competitive pricing on the exact make and model of used car I was looking for! Since I live about 20 miles away, I called ahead to make sure the vehicle was still there, an the exact make and model of used car I was looking for! took my vehicle in for service and came out of the service department with a vehicle that would not stay running! My vehicle is a 2007 toyota with only 27k miles on it still under warranty,I ended up t service department with a vehicle that would not stay running! My vehicle is a 2007 toyota with only 27k miles on it still under warranty,I ended up taking my vehicle to another place and had the state take pictures of the wires that where disconnected and cut by the dealership so I can take this matter all the way to the BBB and the state of Illinois! From further research this dealership is a bunch of crooks from the sales dept. to the service dept. to say the lease I have put my vehicle up for sale because this is my closest dealership and I will never step foot in the business again! I wish I would have done my research before the fact of going there More
I sent in an offer via email for a few hundred less than their asking price of 18,000.00 and asked not to be contacted unless they would come down to my offer. Unfortunately, these guys don't understand Eng their asking price of 18,000.00 and asked not to be contacted unless they would come down to my offer. Unfortunately, these guys don't understand English. So far, they have emailed and called me multiple times. If you want to have a permanent pest, go ahead and contact them...they won't leave you alone. If they had come down a few hundred, I would have bought the car. The salesman says...but we are only a few hundred apart... I made my offer and they just don't get it. There are other dealerships and other cars available. They aren't that special. They remind me of the old days when a car salesman was a pain in the you know what. More
This was probably one of the most unusual experiences I have ever had, in more than 30 years of purchasing and leasing vehicles from dealers. Upon answering an advertisement for a pre-owned car that was have ever had, in more than 30 years of purchasing and leasing vehicles from dealers. Upon answering an advertisement for a pre-owned car that was listed at $12,995 we made a cash offer of $12,000.00 (93.3% of asking). The salesman went back to speak to the sales manager and came out stating that they would not take a dime less than asking. We thought perhaps we had misunderstood, but it was confirmed that they expected to sell the car for full asking price. The next day, feeling that the entire incident was strange, I contacted the dealership again, and this time spoke to the head sales manager, who was the same person that had made the decision the day before. Not only did this person confirm that the asking price was the only price that they would take, but he spent the greater part of the conversation sarcastically questioning me, my integrity, and claiming that he was not going to sell a car to me because he didn't like my "attitude". His primary "pitch" on why buying from him at full asking price was such a great deal was because of Thomas Toyota's "Lifetime Warranty". Based on my experience as a cash-buyer treated like a criminal...I can only imagine what fun and enjoyment it would be to be the poor schmuck who buys a car from Thomas Toyota and then has to try and actually get "service" on such a warranty. When the universe speaks loudly... listen up. Someone was trying to save my wife and I a lot of heartache by ensuring that we didn't buy this vehicle from Thomas Toyota. More
Me and my wife bought 3rd Toyota from dealer and that's the last vehicle that we bought from this dealer. Be aware of this dealership , they not only use illegal sales practise ( such as adverising unreali the last vehicle that we bought from this dealer. Be aware of this dealership , they not only use illegal sales practise ( such as adverising unrealistic prices ,prices online is different than over the phone ) but they also dishonest and unprofessioanl. The guys from Finance department will run you credit trough 20 banks in order to get the best deal for them . We ask finance guy to run only trough Toyota Finance but this guy instead run trough 12 different banks . will never buy again from them . Bought my new vehicle from Toyota of Naperville .such a great experience More
After being rear-ended by an uninsured driver, I was painstakingly looking for an acceptable replacement asap. I saw via cars.com that the Thomas Motors in Joliet had new 2011 Camrys for $18,500. I cou painstakingly looking for an acceptable replacement asap. I saw via cars.com that the Thomas Motors in Joliet had new 2011 Camrys for $18,500. I couldn't believe what a great price they were offering them for; so, before deciding to make the long drive out to this dealer, I decided to call and verify that the listed price was correct. I was told it was correct and that they still had several still available. Sounds great, right?? It was only after test driving that I was told the $18,500 online price was for 'recent college grads' only and that I did not qualify for that price (despite graduating in 2008, but that's besides the point). They told me that cars.com only allowed them so much room to advertize that fact and that I should have looked at their dealer website as all of those missing details were listed. Well, not only did I look at their website (which still lists that there are Camrys available at $18,500 with NO mention that the price is for 'RECENT' college grads only) but was also lied to on the phone when I called to verify that price in the first place. I was so disappointed for all the wasted time. They tried to convince me that I wouldn't be able to find a better deal since they have the lowest prices in town. I decided to take my cards off the table and leave empty handed. I then went to Orland Toyota and despite them not having any special prices online, I was sold a NEW Camry out the door including tax/title/license for $18,100. Not only did they give me a better price, but they also never lied to me or wasted my time. Moral of the story: Thomas Motors, you do NOT have the best deals in town and I didn't appreciate being lied to. More
Everything seemed fine until I asked to see a breakdown of the out-the-door price. They tried to dodge my question but I kept pushing to see all the charges. I finally discovered many bogus fees on top o of the out-the-door price. They tried to dodge my question but I kept pushing to see all the charges. I finally discovered many bogus fees on top of the normal taxes, licensing, and doc fees. One was for a VIN etching and they were charging me $600! This costs $30-$40 tops at AAA - and that price is for nonmembers. You can even buy a DIY kit to do VIN etching for around 20 bucks. Total scam. They advertise great low prices and then try to get you on a bunch of bogus fees at the end. I called them out on it, asked them to at least reduce the fees to normal levels, but they refused and wouldn't budge. They started to act condescendingly and treated me as if I didn't know what was good for myself. My wife and I had to walk out because we were getting no where with them. Watch out for the bogus fees they will throw on the final price! More
