I was traveling alone with my dog and cat to go to my beach house. I was advised in 88 degree weather that pets are not allowed inside the customer waiting room so they placed me on a metal stainless steel bench outside the officesin the heat with an older Australian shepherd and a young cat on my lap with a harness. I wasn’t prepared for this because I was on my way to SC for my sabbatical. It took them 2 hours before they placed it into a bay to find out what was wrong. Then I had to tap on the glass to ask Bridgette what was wrong and if they could get the parts and fix the car so I could finish my trip. She wasn’t sure about the parts. It was finally 5.5 hours of sitting on this metal bench with two pets with me that I tapped on the glass to ask if someone could give me an update on my car. She left her air conditioned office to tell me they can’t fix it today and I’d have to leave it. Well, now it’s 2:30 on July 3rd before a 3day holiday weekend and I need to get a rental car. I called my fleet rep to get me a rental and the guy was calling everywhere in a one hour radius to find me a rental and wasn’t having any luck. I asked another one of the Toyota employees who walked past me if anyone could help me secure a rental car and told her my predicament but no kne came out to help me. Finally, my fleet rep called and said the only rental place that had not answered their phone was only 1.5 miles from this Toyota Service Center. It was worth going over in person to ask. I finally got hold of the gentleman who receives the cars at the Service Center who watched me sit there for 5.5 hours on a metal bench with a dog and a cat on a very hot day if I could get a ride to the Hertz Rental and after he got permission to take me there(because I think they didn’t want a dog or cat in their car) he finally gave me a ride. I was so parched and stressed and the dog and cat were panting this whole time. We got to the rental place and the girl there called to see if anyone was returning a car and found one for me. FINALLY, I found someone who treated me nice, told me to come in out of the heat even with the dog and cat, gave us all water and let us wait inside air conditioning. When I finally got the rental, I had to drive over and transfer all my vacation stuff(beach chairs, coolers, etc) out of my car and into the rental. This was at 5 pm when most of the employees were getting off work. Here I had arrived at 9am, sat in the heat for 5.5 hours on a metal bench, and no one offered me a bathroom or water for me or my pets and no one offered to help me transfer my things from one car and loading them into the rental. This was the rudest place I have ever done business with… no hospitality at all. I had to go back 5 days later to pick up the car and asked for the Service Center manager. I asked if he worked last Thursday and saw a woman sitting on the metal bench for hours with 2 pets with her sitting out in the heat. He said he remembered that. I shared that I was out of state traveling when my car broke down. I told him how unkind his staff was to expect me to wait 5.5 hours in the heat and never offered me the use of their bathroom or offered me water or to come in out of the heat since it was special circumstances, He never said sorry, but did hear me out. I would never want to do business here again. They don’t care about people. Very unkind More
I hardly ever post reviews, but this has got to be the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. I live out of state and was ready to buy a used vehicle they had for sale and was even going to drive from o worst dealership I have ever dealt with. I live out of state and was ready to buy a used vehicle they had for sale and was even going to drive from out of state to pick it up. Zachary Perry and Kerry Mitchell were a joke for salesman, they gave me some info on the vehicle but would never respond back to me, I would call over and over and they would tell me they are busy with costumers and sorry they can call me back later. I am a paying customer and was ready to buy the vehicle in cash, I actually tried calling the manager of the place and even he didn’t answer his phone, he also had no way to leave a voicemail because it was full. I’m thinking how can a manager not be ready to receive phone calls or voicemails, what kind of people are at this dealership lol, it’s like i was begging them to buy the car. I called about this vehicle for over 2 weeks and every single time there was an excuse as to why they couldn’t respond to me. I thought maybe because I was out of state they are not taking me seriously? maybe it was more work for them and they didn’t wanna deal with it? The reviews on here are mostly good and I have no idea how, I called more and more people at rocky mount toyota and they struggled finding the car, finding a salesman for me to talk to, finding a manager, anything, I felt like I was taking crazy pills or like I was in an alternate universe where you beg to buy a car with your money and intelligence is frowned upon in this dimension. I was so worried i actually looked up Rocky Mount, North Carolina to see what kind of place is this. In all comments I hear people that have lived there, been there, or are from North Carolina say that it is the arm pit of the state. Others stated people have been severely unmotivated for generations and the wrong people are having babies, I heard people talk about that it is the ghetto where people care about 23 inch rims more than groceries, where nobody knows how to prioritize anything. Most people are looking for a way out, are unmotivated, bored, and that it is full of crime and run down neighborhoods. I heard many people call it Crime mount, North Carolina and talked about intelligence is not a thing in the town, and it’s been that way for generations, just lazy, unmotivated, unintelligent. I heard others say since the 80s businesses left there because of how awful it has become and that it used to be such a great place. I began to actually feel bad for the people of Rocky Mount and realized that it’s not the dealerships fault, the salesman that refuse to sell or put any effort in, the manager without a way to call or the guy at the desk not knowing how to find a vehicle for sale that I’m describing, it’s not their fault, they are just victims and the product of generations of people that should not be having kids. I don’t feel mad anymore about it, it’s simply just how it is for these poor folks in Rocky Mount. More
