Every moment of my visit to Southwest Kia was so refreshing. I went in expecting to be "taken" by a car dealer. Instead, I was "taken in!" We went to the dealership to look at their cars. Was greeted at the front by David Thompson. He was very thorough in helping us narrow down what it was my wife was looking for in a car. David was an excellent person to work with. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left he was very friendly, humorous, and kind. I was very impressed by his knowledge of Kia and everything Kia “rep moment I arrived to the moment I left he was very friendly, humorous, and kind. I was very impressed by his knowledge of Kia and everything Kia “represents…” down to the details of different vehicles, various models, and all the warranties offered. I am a single mom of three so finding time to look, negotiate, and do all that is involved with purchasing a new car was extremely challenging. Even under the stress and pressure of “I have to go and pick up...I’ll be back” and “okay I only have one hour before I have to be back to get…” then to having all three of children looking at him with the “how much longer is this going to take look?” he still kept the smile on his face and never once seemed frustrated. David even offered and ended up watching over my three kiddos as I complete the financing part…at this point I asked him if he was crazy! He was wonderful with my children. He entertained them, showed them a few cars, and played some games with them. They had a blast which made completing the finance part much easier. This is my first Kia experience and I can say with confidence David definitely made it a very smooth, enjoyable, and pretty easy process. I have already started recommending him to any friends, family, and co-workers I know who might be looking at cars in the near future. More
I was referred to this dealership by a friend in hopes of having the same great experience with Kathy as she did previously. However, when we arrived Kathy was busy assisting other customers so she had Davi having the same great experience with Kathy as she did previously. However, when we arrived Kathy was busy assisting other customers so she had David take care of us. David is THE MOST friendly and caring sales person I've ever dealt with. He didn't talk down to me or try to sell me something just in the hopes of getting it off the lot or to put money in his pocket. His mission was clear: to take care of me. He made sure I was well aware of the features and what I was getting out of the vehicles before and during the test drives of the two cars I was interested in. David was courteous, funny and very easy to communicate with. Upon arriving to the dealership the biggest set back was seeing the extremely low inventory. It was apparently this way at all of the Southwest locations in the area due to a recent sale. David didn't try just getting me into "any" car because of the low inventory...he let me know it was ok to wait till more options became available and for that I knew he'd be great to do business with. I had decided on a car that I knew probably wasn't within my reach but he still tried to accommodate what I wanted but to no avail. We did however manage to walk away with a 2012 Kia Soul, but not before stumbling upon some pricing issues. I walked in to the dealership with a specific payment in mind and left paying $150 more than that. I know the backbone of a business is held in place by revenue, however, I also know that what I was willing to compromise during negotiation was very do-able. This remains an issue to me but I know I didn't HAVE to sign for it. I believe David could've helped us a little more in that area. I will definitely recommend this dealership AND David to anyone I know looking to purchase a new or used vehicle as well as I will also remain dedicated to do business with him in the future. Said they would call me back an Saturday after giving them all my info/ credit. Never did. A week later a customer service rep called my because of a Internet quote I filled out several weeks before. She had no idea I Was even there. I told her what happed. Assuming Walter or someone would call me back. Never happened. I guess they did not want to sell me a car. Very disappointed in service quality. 4/13/12 5:45 Dealership called me back apologizing for dropping the ball(Don's words) today saying they will make me a great deal. Guess we will see what that means. 4/13/12 8:10 Don called me back with the super deal. NOT!! They would not come off the Internet asking price. Don told me he was going to make me this great deal. Ideally I would hope for a few thousand off a car or maybe a soul plus for the base price. Only a few thousand different. Also tagged the finance manager. But the best he would do is the asking price. Telling me that's all he can do even on a used one. I even thought maybe a forte or optima would be possible. Guess not I would never recommend this dealership to anyone because of the poor service. Why call me up a tell me your going to give me a great price and only give me the same price as advertised. Will also post this on twitter and facebook for any of me friend thinking about getting a Kia. More
