I spent the weekend shopping for cars we were buying two cars this weekend, we had already purchased/leased our first car from a different dealership and have been with them for 6 years. We were looking for a replacement car that we can run around with and not have a high monthly payment. Rockland Hyundai was our last stop and had heard great things about the SUV. We were greeted as soon as we walked in buy a very friendly salesman; the outside appearance of the dealership leaves a little to be desired, looks grimy, cheap and dirty from the outside- Inside nut a whole lot better. We talked to the sales rep and he was great,took us for a test ride this was all good, it was me and my 10 year old son. The car drove great; we both liked it and then we returned and then came the numbers game. It felt as if how fast can we get your money and they were not going to take us seriously unless I handed them a credit card or cash. Overall we are happy with the car and the staff was friendly but not professional, and the dealership was just dirty. I left there feeling like I had just been screwed and it was not the most enjoyable experience even more so since I had been to 5 other dealerships and had already made a purchase earlier in the day. The overall feeling was that they would truly take as much money as they can possibly get out of you regardless of what the car is worth and these types of actions does not make for an enjoyable car buying experience. So buyer beware!! More

Very nice experience. Salesperson and Manager were very helpful and willing to make the deal. Also, we got a fair price for our trade-in. They cleaned up the car on time for us to pick up. Horrible experiences on multiple occasions, new management means nothing. These horrible experiences started when picking up the used car that was purchased (in 2010). The car had a recall on it management means nothing. These horrible experiences started when picking up the used car that was purchased (in 2010). The car had a recall on it, and the dealer said they would take care of the recall prior to picking up the vehicle. We got there at the time we said we would be picking up the car, the car was all ready to go, but the salesman said that they had not taken care of the recall. Well, a couple of phone calls later they decide they'll take care of the recall while we sit there waiting. And, we sat there waiting for 2+ hours, simply because they didn't do what they promised to do. The car also included a free year of oil changes/tire rotations. Went to drop off the car one morning a few months later, and get a call from the sales associate later on saying that they have no record of the oil changes/tire rotations being included with the car. Lo and behold, the salesman we purchased the car from didn't file the paperwork properly (if at all). And for them to not even have it in the computer in this day and age is absurd. It took multiple phone calls (over multiple hours) before they decided to properly document that oil changes/tire rotations were included for a year, and to actually perform the oil change. While the whole oil change/tire rotation dispute was going on, I decided to give the salesman a call (he had provided his phone number at the time of the sale in case we had any additional problems) to confirm that he had documented that the oil changes/tire rotations were included or to see what he didn't do. He didn't pick up the phone when I called, but I got a call from the salesman a few days later complaining that he left the dealership and that they hadn't paid him for the sales he made and what not. Completely unprofessional, nor do I care! Just goes to show how scummy the dealership and its employees are. Later on, the car had an issue with the timing chain belt. The car was still under warranty, so we brought it in to have that replaced. Had to bring the car in 3 different times because the sales staff kept saying that there was nothing wrong with the belt - Until the 3rd time, when they finally decided to repair it after admitting there was something wrong. ...And then today, with hopes because the dealer is under new management. Made an appointment online because we received another recall letter regarding the passenger side airbag. Called up the service department about an hour before the appointment to make sure that they have the part to do the work. Spoke with a woman in the service department, and explained the situation regarding the recall. She told me that they have the part there and everything is set. Show up an hour later, walk inside, and the sales associate tells me that Hyundai decided that they are no longer performing the recall I came in for. The associate told me that they sent a letter out in the mail, and said I must not have received it yet. Ok, well then why did I call an hour earlier, and somebody in the service department told me that they have the part & everything is set? The associate tells me that he can't do anything and the best he can do is suggest that nobody sit in the passenger seat. Tell the associate that I've never not had an issue with the service department, and he decides to walk out to my car with me. Sits in the car, says that the passenger airbag light is not coming on. Well, the recall states that the light can come on depending on how you sit in the seat. He moves around for 3 seconds, says it isn't coming on, says he can't do anything, tells me to have a good day, and just walks back inside. Obviously angered that they have wasted my time (in addition to which, I came from Westchester so in addition to the gas/bridge toll), I went back in. The male sales associate wasn't there, but the female sales associate was there. She ignored me while she dealt with other customers. When the male sales associate came back, I asked him if they receive all of the online appointment information each morning. He said yes, and I asked him why they didn't call me if they knew they weren't going to be able to perform the work? He got angry at ME and said, "You have an attitude sir, I can't do anything!" I just walked out, and said I would never purchase a vehicle from here again or return to their service department. Called up after returning home and spoke to the service department manager. Explained how crummy their department is - Not calling to tell a customer they can't perform the service (even though they said an hour before the appointment that they had the part & everything was set), the associate getting angry at ME and blowing me off, ignoring me and assisting others etc. Service manager simply kept apologizing, and saying that they were going to deal with those issues & appreciates the feedback. Well, nothing has changed in 5 years, even with new managment. Avoid this dealership at all costs! More

Every single one of them made the end to end buying experience easy, direct, and efficient. I have included below the email I sent Zoran after we finished buying the Veloster Turbo. Zoran, I wanted to thank you again for making my first buying experience with Hyundai and essentially my first buying experience ever an extremely satisfying one. As I had mentioned to you on day one, I am averse to the entire sales process, but you have changed my attitude with respect to that. You were a consummate professional from minute one, and are clearly a man of your word. You know your cars, the process, and are very patient. I mentioned to you I am a loyal customer (the story about the same insurance agent since 1985). As soon as we need another car, I will back - I won't even consider another sales consultant. I guess the card they send out to refinance is only to try to get you to buy a new car. I went to refinance once they heard that they wasted my time I'm 60 miles away from them. I went to Rockland Hyundai with the sole intention of viewing their inventory. I knew what I was looking for but just hadn’t found a vehicle that wowed me. I met with Zoran upon my arrival to the dealers viewing their inventory. I knew what I was looking for but just hadn’t found a vehicle that wowed me. I met with Zoran upon my arrival to the dealership and he was very helpful with informing me of what they had to offer and I was actually able to purchase a car that was EVEN BETTER than what I had in my mind. Both Zoran and the Finance Manager Melvin did an amazing job of walking me through the finance process, keeping me as informed as possible, and ensuring that I fully understood all aspects of the purchase. I never felt pressured or mislead and I believe that is owed to the impeccable customer service I received. They really put the consumer first! I will definitely return to Rockland Hyundai for any future purchases and will recommend everyone I know to Zoran. Thank you so much, Zoran. It was such a pleasure!! More
Our sales woman Jessica was great, friendly and organized and helpful. The finance department was difficult, and slow. It was an extremely awful day, which our entire family was held hostage to disorganized and untruthful staff. If we were told upfront it would take 3 hours to do paperwork, we would have left and came back when they were ready. However, due to their lack of communication, or just BS, we were left rotting there with my wife, my two year old and myself all crawling out of our skin, trapped and waiting. I almost left, and went to Toyota instead, but by the time the day was over, we just wanted to get it over with... More
