Called this morning to essentially buy a car. I'm in Ohio so I offered to put $5K just to hold the car so I could go on Saturday and complete the paperwork and take the car home. Sent preapproval letter for so I offered to put $5K just to hold the car so I could go on Saturday and complete the paperwork and take the car home. Sent preapproval letter for financing at noon. Did not receive a confirmation ping back so I called at 5 pm. Come to find out they sold the car I wanted. Empty and shallow apologies are what I proceeded to receive from my salesmen. I had to call them to find out the car had been sold out from under me. The salesmen offered for me to speak to the manager but for what? The same manager he had to consult this morning to see if they would accept my $5K security deposit. Why didn't the manager call me to apologize for the situation. The manager knew I was coming from Ohio and was a guaranteed sale. How can you trust what is told to you here? I was told my offer was acceptable by the same manager who allowed the car to be sold. Really? Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing? Beyond disappointed. Disappointed that I was valued so little as an online customer out of state. I was buying the car. I wasn't looking at it. I was traveling 3 states away to buy it. I was a guaranteed sale and willing to put $5,000 down to guarantee my purchase. Too bad being 1st doesn't matter at this dealership. I'm in shock still that this all happened. Apologies don't mean anything when you sold the car I should have been able to buy. More
