New truck purchase. We chose Reliable Chevrolet because their internet department promised to locate us a new truck. Which they did in short order. Next we were asked t We chose Reliable Chevrolet because their internet department promised to locate us a new truck. Which they did in short order. Next we were asked to bring our trade in for appraisal, a four hundred mile round trip for us. Our appointment was for 11:30 AM. Tuesday Nov. 7. It took until 3:30 PM to get the appraisal and sign a purchase intent form. A version of throwing your keys on the roof until you sign? This was a cash purchase, so waiting for credit approval did not apply. No copy of the purchase form was offered or supplied. Late Thursday Nov. 9 Reliable called, they had the truck and wanted to deliver on Saturday at 3PM. After going back and forth over the amount of the final check required we requested an e-mail copy of the purchase form we signed. Calling our Bank we found out a check was not possible until Monday because of the Vetern' s Day holiday. Contacting Reliable our delivery appointment was reset for Monday Nov. 13 at 11 AM. Monday, with check in hand, we repeat out 200 mile trip to Reliable to pick up our new truck. Arriving about fifteen minutes early we sit down to wait. After half an hour we are informed the truck is not ready, not even started, and our step bars were put on the wrong truck. Worse the responsible manager did not come in and our paperwork is lost. We frantically searched for the e-mail of our purchase agreement, to no avail. The F&I employee reconstructed the deal with our check and what information he could find. He completed our paperwork over the next hour and a half, record time. Now the proud owners of a truck still not ready. We waited another 30 minutes for the truck to be washed and then began the delivery process. After reviewing a few screens on the radio and setting up an account with On Star, we left about 3PM. I thought buying a new vehicle would be easy, fun, and exciting. I expected to be guided through the process by my sales person and the truck ready when promised. I had hoped for an introduction to the parts department and a chance to purchase additional accessories. We ordered them on line from home. More
