We have been customers of Leith Honda for 16 years, but decided to deal with Reggie Jackson for this purchase. We couldn’t be more pleased. All the people at Reggie Jackson were great to work with. decided to deal with Reggie Jackson for this purchase. We couldn’t be more pleased. All the people at Reggie Jackson were great to work with. Today, I visited Reggie Jackson Honda with the intention of refinancing my vehicle, which I have owned since June 14, 2022. Upon my arrival, I was seated with a sales representative who mistakenly believed of refinancing my vehicle, which I have owned since June 14, 2022. Upon my arrival, I was seated with a sales representative who mistakenly believed I wanted to trade in my car. I quickly corrected him, clarifying that my sole purpose for the visit was to refinance my vehicle. I didn’t think much of the confusion at first, assuming it was just a misunderstanding from our phone conversation when I scheduled the appointment. After explaining my intentions in detail to the sales representative handling my appointment, another employee joined us and asked if I was leasing or financing. I had already informed the first representative that my only intention was to refinance my vehicle to secure a lower interest rate and reduced monthly payments, and that I was already financing through Reggie Jackson Honda. At this point, I began to feel as though my requests were being disregarded. It seemed they were attempting to steer me toward trading in my vehicle or leasing a new one—options I had explicitly stated I was not interested in when I made the appointment and during our conversations. It felt as though they were trying to persuade me into a transaction that was not aligned with my original intent. I remained calm and composed throughout the two-hour appointment, despite the repeated diversion from my primary request. After once again explaining my intentions to another employee, he left with the sales representative handling my appointment, only to return with a credit sheet. He reassured me that this would not affect my credit report, explaining that it would be a "soft inquiry" and that no information would be sent to any credit agencies, thus not impacting my credit score. As a young adult with a credit score above 700, I take my credit score very seriously. After signing the credit sheet, under the assumption that they were finally understanding my request, the sales representative returned, showing me a new car—again completely ignoring my request for refinancing. I reiterated that I was not interested in purchasing a new vehicle and was only interested in refinancing. We then returned inside the building, and a few minutes later, both the sales representative and the sales manager approached me to explain that refinancing was not an option because I was not leasing my vehicle. This explanation made no sense to me, and I felt further frustrated. I informed them that I was no longer interested in continuing the discussion and requested my keys. As I was escorted outside to my car, the sales representative who had been handling my appointment confided that the lease sales representative and the sales manager had been attempting to bypass my request by pushing me into a new vehicle. He confirmed my suspicions and validated the frustration I had been feeling throughout the appointment. Later that day, after returning home, I checked my credit report and discovered that my credit score had dropped by 16 points—despite being reassured multiple times that this would not happen. Based on this experience, I strongly advise against visiting Reggie Jackson Honda for first-time car purchases or services. More
