Do not take your car here for service! My husband brought our 2016 Impreza in on April 16 because he thought there was a problem with the throttle and the dealer should handle that. After My husband brought our 2016 Impreza in on April 16 because he thought there was a problem with the throttle and the dealer should handle that. After charging him $200, the service advisor, Joel Schafer, gave him a whole laundry list of problems to resolve. Fixing everything would have exceeded the value of the car. A friend of ours recommended taking it to her mechanic , Newlin's Auto Service in Coatesville, whom she described as trustworthy and reliable. They found a problem with the transmission that didn't need immediate resolution and said it should be OK to drive the car locally. It's almost a month later and we have not had a problem. A friend of ours had a similar experience with Reedman Toll Subaru about three years ago and found that all her car really needed was windshield wipers! We will not be buying a replacement car from Reedman Toll Subaru. More
Our Outback wouldn't start, so I tested the battery, which was reading under 12v. I took the bad battery that Reedman Toll installed in October 22 in for a replacement (the battery has a 30-month warra which was reading under 12v. I took the bad battery that Reedman Toll installed in October 22 in for a replacement (the battery has a 30-month warranty). The first service person told me I needed to make an appointment to have the battery tested and shared there would likely be installation costs if they determined the battery was defective (What!!!). The second service person stepped in and said, we can just go test the battery -he came back and said it was bad. I was told they needed to have the car in their shop to replace the battery for free. Very few people own jumper cables (this isn't the 80s), and I wasn't going to pay to have the car towed. Needless to say, I had to spend $200 at Autozone for a new battery that Subaru should have replaced under warranty. Absurd. I gave them two stars because of the support from the second service tech. Not sure they know what they are doing Took car in because of a clunking noise at low speed and tight turn (parking). Diagnosed as needing two new axles. $1500 later , car still clunks. Als Took car in because of a clunking noise at low speed and tight turn (parking). Diagnosed as needing two new axles. $1500 later , car still clunks. Also they replaced my power steering pump because off a fluid leak...yep, still leaked. Then they replaced some seals at a lower point in system which fixed the problem. Another $500 of unnecessary repair. Not sure their training or integrity are adequate. More
