This deal never would have happened without Jay Conway. I inquired about a vehicle via the internet and was told that it was unavailable. A few days later, I received a "good news" call from Jay Merritt s I inquired about a vehicle via the internet and was told that it was unavailable. A few days later, I received a "good news" call from Jay Merritt stating that the vehicle was now available. I planned to look at the car in four days and was promised pictures after the car was detailed and safety inspected. After three days and no call or pictures, I contacted Jay Conway who personally drove the vehicle, sent me pictures, and gave me his honest impression of the car since I was driving over 4 hours. I decided to purchase the car; however, after completing the paperwork, Jay had to inform me that it was still unavailable. Chris Wasek had no problem coming over to give me the "take it or we can part as friends price" but didn't bother to come over and explain, apologize, or offer any solution, if the vehicle became available. Messages to Matt Douvikas were not returned but Jay Conway did the right thing and worked to get me the vehicle on my terms. The only other positive was David Cooper who helped to expedite the paperwork so Jay Conway could personally deliver the vehicle to me. I wouldn't hesitate to work with Jay in the future. More

I came in and worked Jay Conway to help me find a new car. I was hoping to trade in my older Suzuki. Way was extremely helpful in finding the perfect vehicle for me and although I need to have a little m car. I was hoping to trade in my older Suzuki. This was my first used car purchase with financing -- second ever car purchase, and first from a dealer. The other car was purchased from a small-operation auction-to-sale solo business in Wisconsin. So second ever car purchase, and first from a dealer. The other car was purchased from a small-operation auction-to-sale solo business in Wisconsin. So I'll admit I was expecting the full pitch. More than that, I'm young (under 30) and have crap for credit and an unusual income situation as a graduate student who works per-project contract. My husband's income is less than mine and his credit, due to medical bills, is worse! So I figured, "no chance, we're not getting financing, I'm gonna wind up slapped with the best possible option of a 2k junker same as the one we've got now". I would have happily done that, too. But Rob Schartz and Joe Nash made it happen. They were able to look at our finances and find a deal that worked. It was a bit more than I might have LIKED to pay per month, but given my credit score and the fact that I walked away with a 2008 Elantra under 100,000 miles, I'm very very pleased. Rob got what it means to be in our credit situation trying to improve the score, understood the constraints of the finances and was never once judgmental, snooty or unfriendly (and believe me, I've dealt with a number of people who are). When my husband gave the bottom line and the offer came back too high, I figured that was it, we were walking away and going with the "pay cash get car" route. But no, they actually ended up meeting us halfway. Pretty pleased with that, too. The car itself had a check engine light on, which was checked and serviced before we left. Got a Carfax report no issues, didn't even have to ask for it (let's just say our last car was bought Carfax-unseen). Car was cleaned, fluid levels checked, tires checked, rotated, etc etc etc while we waited and handled the financing. I was just 100% impressed that we were not treated like second-class buyers because we were buying used, or because our credit scores were low. Never once did anyone make me feel less than or embarrassed. In fact, Rob went OUT OF HIS WAY to personally involve himself and share anecdotes to help us feel more comfortable about the situation, even after the sale was finished. He came back to check on us about fifty times (this may be an exaggeration but you get the point) over the span of the 4-5 hours it took to go from walk in to walk out, many of those after the deal was done and the papers signed, and we were just hanging out waiting. He definitely did not need to do that, and it was really very nice of him. I'd absolutely recommend Ray to anyone -- the size of the dealership means they have a lot of resources. Yes, it hurt to pay the IL tax, but to be honest I wasn't going to get considered for financing by the smaller places in WI. With unusual circumstances like mine, I figured I'd be sent packing, and instead I went home with a great car that I love. Great experience, great people. Hopefully the continued experience with them in the future will be just as great! More
