Also advised me that there was only one technician and that it would take longer than usual. I appreciated that. Also appreciated service advisor, Ellen, telling me to have tires rotated before returning to Arizona. Would not hesitate to return for any needed service. More

Continuing Review of Rainier Dodge Service: Second vehicle I took for service at Rainier was a RAM 1500. This vehicle was having an automatic transmission issue (slipping and not shifting properly). I vehicle I took for service at Rainier was a RAM 1500. This vehicle was having an automatic transmission issue (slipping and not shifting properly). I brought the Ram in with an appointment. After several hours in the shop and a road test, they came back with a list of problems. Their findings included low ATF level, wrong ATF type, internal transmission issues that required a teardown to diagnose and fix, the dreaded HEMI knock, requiring cam and lifter replacement, and a "failed air filter". I had just had full fluid service 6 mo.s previous so I checked with that shop and they showed me the records of the type and qty of ATF. They listen to the engine and said they did not hear any more that typical engine noise. I check the air filter and it was a little dirty but was intact with white media still visible. I ended up taking the RAM to a reputable transmission shop and got it rebuilt with a lifetime warranty. It turns out that the main problem was a computer module with water intrusion. More
