Especially pre owned. On top of that we were buying what was probably the least expensive car on the lot. Take all that into consideration however, they are set up to skirt the law. They throw up about $700-800 is junk fees on top of the price. OK, fine. Buyer beware, and we negotiated what we thought was a pretty good deal because we agreed to register the car ourselves. What they didn't explain to us was we were buying the car from the previous owner (based on title) and that when we registered the car we had to pay sales tax. Normally when you buy a car from a dealer, they collect the sales tax. The vague bill of sale they gave me did not help. Next, the car was not inspected as they told me. Law says when you buy from a dealer, they have to inspect the car. I'm not going to say they break the law because I'm not a lawyer or otherwise expert but, it seems to me they do skirt it by setting themselves up this way (you taking title from the previous owner). It's tough out there in used car land, especially on the low end of things but, a bit of honesty works better than a smile to your face while they put a knife in your back More

My husband and I live in Hoboken, NJ and do not need a car for everyday use. We decided to look into buying a used car when we found out we were expecting out first child in March 2013. We found a beautif car for everyday use. We decided to look into buying a used car when we found out we were expecting out first child in March 2013. We found a beautiful BMW X5 advertised for sale at Queens Auto Mall and decided to check it out. Looking back on it we should not have finalized this sale but we were young and new at this process and we let ignorance get the better of us. When we first arrived to Queens we met with our salesman, Dean. Dean showed us the X5 and told us that to his knowledge it did not have any problems and that the car was in good working condition. My husband asked to test drive the car and he said that because it was an auction house we would not be able to test drive it. We were also asked to pay a $500.00 auction fee (that we've now learned is ILLEGAL) and were told we could not take the car home the day we purchased it because Isaac, the manager said and I quote "I do not want to put your pregnant wife in a car until it has been inspected, deemed safe and in full working order." One week later we picked up our car and slowly the car began to fall apart. We placed over a dozen calls to Queens Auto Mall leaving our name, contact numbers and reasons for calling. We were then informed a manager would return the call, however, we never received a call back. My husband and I were giving thought to consulting with legal counsel when Andy, owner and manager started to get involved. Andy appeared to be helpful and claimed he would resolve the matter by trading us into a working car. We made another trip to Queens Auto Mall to test drive a second car only to find it had mechanical issues as well. We were then told that they would contact us the following week with a suitable trade. It's now been two weeks and communication from Queens Auto Mall has ceased. The following details a list of the things wrong with our vehicle: 1. The radiator and hoses all had to be replaced. 2. The driver?s side window and back right window do not roll up or down. 3. The check engine light is on and the car failed the emissions test - we've taken it to Queens to be fixed twice for this. 4. We've now noticed that the tread on both of the rear tires are wearing unevenly and we have been informed that it would not be possible to have the tires aligned without having the alignment bolts soldered off, due to excessive rust and neglect. 5. Leak in the windshield washer fluid reservoir. 6. The car will not lock or unlock from the inside or outside of the vehicle 7. The radio will not turn on. In addition to all of this please note that Queens Auto Mall attempted to coerce us into writing a 5 star review on cars.com prior to the initial pick up of our vehicle. We are now pursuing legal action due to that fact that Queens Auto Mall has ceased communications us with and failed to resolve any of the before mentioned issues. We would advise anyone considering Queens Auto Mall NOT to purchase a vehicle from this dealer. More
My wife and I became interested in a 2006 Hyundai Sonata there while shopping for a used car on Saturday. I wanted to take it for a test drive but because it was late on a Saturday they told me I could tak there while shopping for a used car on Saturday. I wanted to take it for a test drive but because it was late on a Saturday they told me I could take it out on Monday. They also told me if I wanted them to hold the car for me I would have to put some money down. I asked if for whatever reason that I didn't want to purchase the car, would I be able to get my money back? My salesperson, Dean, after some double talking eventually said yes he would return my money. So I put $500 down and set up an appointment for 9:30am on Wednesday to test drive the car and was told that the financing department wold be open at 10am and we would be able to talk to Lucas regarding our financing of the car. My wife told the people at her job that she would probably be in around lunchtime that day since we had to get our car. We talked with Dean on Tuesday and he assured us everything would be ready for Wednesday. We arrived on Wednesday and found that the car was still locked in the gated lock across the street. Nothing had been done with it at all. The salesperson we talked to, Dean, was conveniently out that day and we were helped by other associates that had less than ideal customer service skills. By the time the car was finally ready for a test drive it was 10:15. My wife and I got into the car and she noticed there was actually bits of broken glass on the seat and floor. We drove the car and noticed a weird vibration coming from the front. They took it into the shop and said it was a bad tire and they would fix it. In the beginning we were told that there would be $449 servicing fee for getting the car ready for our purchase, cleaning, checking out the mechanics of the car etc. Obviously nothing was done at all regarding that. Even after this we were still interested in the car and wanted to talk to the financing person, Lucas, about our options. Remember, the financing office is open at 10am but on that day Lucas did not show up until 12:30! By this point my wife and I had had enough and told Lucas once he got there that we wanted the cash price for the car since nothing was as they said it would be. He said he couldn't do that so I told him I wanted my money back and that I'm going somewhere else. He said ok and that I would have talk to the manager Bruno. I told Bruno the situation and he said well the car is ready so there really isn't any problem and that he's not giving my money back. I said that's xx! The car was not ready, nothing was done to it to get it ready for that day, and we've wasted 3 hours waiting for employees to get it ready and for others to even just show up to work! I also told him that Dean, who was conveniently not there that day, said I would be able to get my money back. Bruno said, "Well I don't know anything about that and he's not here today." So I told him basically you're stealing my money so I'm calling the cops. Bruno said, "go ahead and call the cops." So I stormed out of the office, called the cops and stood outside there offices and proceeded to tell anyone who looked like they were interested in buying a car about my ordeal. After about 10 minutes of this, the general manager who called himself PK, came out asked me to tell him the story and maybe we could work this out. Eventually we did but this was absolutely THE worst experience I've ever had with a car dealership. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!! More
The dealer's location is very convenient. The breadth of their inventory is also impressive. The sales staff were sufficiently knowledgeable and helpful. They're very nice to you when you arrive, typical dealership. Slick salesmen they just want you to buy something. The car I purchased had minimal issues supposedly and the tires were worn down so I dealership. Slick salesmen they just want you to buy something. The car I purchased had minimal issues supposedly and the tires were worn down so I asked them to replace them for something more manageable. A week later, had to rebuild the transmission completely -- luckily caught that under warranty. A month later the driver side window wouldn't roll up. Keep in mind they only cover engine and transmission under warranty. Car shook over 40mph when I told them I had already gotten the tires balanced they diagnosed the problem as one rather bent rim. However the first time snow stuck to the ground the car slid all over the place and I almost got into an accident even though I was only going 10mph. Next day I replaced all the tires at a shop unaffiliated with the dealership and they told me the tires were all different sizes, only one of them even fit the car properly. The car also stopped shaking after that. The brake pads were also completely worn down when I purchased the car. Keep in mind they keep anything besides the top of the line cars wedged in so you can't get a test drive. Honestly, unless you can drive the car and have it checked out by a mechanic you trust before, don't purchase from this dealership. In total, transmission rebuilt with their warranty- $500 all four brake pads - $400 all four tires - $300 Not even including the window repair this car has cost me over $1000 worth of repairs in less than five months. Horrible dealership. My engine light is always on and 2 months later (after the car spent about 1 month in their shop) my car won't start. Everytime I take the car to their shop, it comes back with the sam months later (after the car spent about 1 month in their shop) my car won't start. I wish I would have read the reviews. I went to buy a used Mazda and paid cash. I was not able to test drive it but I took their word and the car fax report checked out. I was not given the title and the used Mazda and paid cash. I was not able to test drive it but I took their word and the car fax report checked out. I was not given the title and they said they would send it in the mail. On the way home to CT the check engine light came on. I called them, they said bring it back and they will take a look at it. Their warrantly which I am sure gets everyone is it covers 50% for parts and 50% for labor. This is not true when they sell you a lemon. They have to fix it! We take the car to our mechanic and he said the car was no good. The engine was bad. So we drive back up to NY and Bruno was nice at first but then became rude. Said he would pay to fix it, but we'd have to pay too. We said just give us our money back and he said NO REFUNDS!. Finally he said he'd fix it that he'd have to find used parts! A week later we call the mechanic Gus and he said we have to check to see if he will pay to have the engine replace. We finally call and say look we want our money back. I said I am calling the attorney general and the bbb. We drive to NY again to get our money back and they still keep a 225 restocking fee! I looked to see if they put it back up in advertise it and it was on ebay saying it was in good condition. I have contactd both bbb and attorney general and the dmv! This place is no good and should be out of business. I will continue to fight for our rights! Do not go here! More
