The people at this dealership are nothing short of the most unprofessional and incompetent people I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. First of all, they tried tacking on a $5000 dealership most unprofessional and incompetent people I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. First of all, they tried tacking on a $5000 dealership fee when I bought my car from them (Luckily I had an offer from another Mazda dealership that did not upcharge me and told them I'd walk if they didn't take it off) Moreover, the sales person I had the misfortune of interacting with had the nerve to call me on a weekend during a holiday asking me to leave a five-star review, yet when I tried calling him back for a question a week later he didn't have the decency to pick up and said to just text him. Secondly, I had a check engine light come on, so I took time off of work and set up an appointment at the dealership to resolve the issue. When I brought my car there, the service advisor literally just spent 30 seconds looking at my car and told me I had no issues and sent me home. Turns out he was either lazy or didn't know what he was doing, because my car started experiencing issues shortly thereafter and I had to make time to bring my car in again. I talked to a manager who apologized and said they'd provide me with a courtesy car, only they never followed through with that either. Lastly, I sent an email to the dealership asking about how check ups were since I wasn't charged for my first two and I wasn't sure how long that perk lasted. Not surprisingly, I never received a response after. I ended up calling and asking about it directly. The person told me only my first two checkups were free and gave me a quote (it was north of $100), but as soon as I said I'd look elsewhere, he immediately hung up before I even had a chance to finish my sentence. I have not had a single positive interaction with anybody at this dealership as the staff is hardly friendly, professional or competent and usually none of the above. Dealerships are already stressful enough to deal with as is, and the staff at Mazda are a prime example of you should avoid them altogether if you can. I strongly recommend everyone to take their business elsewhere. More

Everyone with whom I spoke was extremely polite and went out of their way to help me - particularly Bennett in the Service department, who is a total life saver and all around wonderful human being. I'd highly encourage anyone shopping for a Mazda or looking to get some work done to head straight here. More
Wrong Expensive Diagnosis Our 2007 Mazda CX7 ( 119K miles ) was often hesitating significantly upon acceleration. I got scanner codes P2177, P2187, P2188, P2195, P0302, P0300 which relate to mixture rich/lean and misfires. Moved cyl2 coil and plug to another cylinder but misfired did not move! I went to Mazda of Puente Hills (Mar2017) in for a diagnosis ($140). They claimed a new high pressure fuel pump was required for $1300. Service person would not provide graphic readout to substantiate. I told him I would rather scrap the car(AC not working, minor body damage). To me the pump issue did not make sense as the car could accelerate well after hesitation which would not be possible with a weak fuel pump. So I assumed the front oxy sensor could be bad so I had a Fullerton mechanic replace it months later for $200. All codes went away and no hesitation. I later got code P2402 Evap Emmision Leak detector pump - bought for $70 and installed myself. Now all codes are gone for $270. And have stayed off as of July 2018. So a dealer may try to sell you the most expensive service first then later sell more repairs figuring you will continue as you have much invested. Lets see a possible scenario: pump $1300, replace one fuel injector $400?, replace one coil $200, then finally the oxy sensor $300 so $2200++ if more injectors & coils . Note this was my only service experience there. Mazda CX7 repairs required: thermostat, oil cooler gasket, timing chain, valve adjustment and of course the very infamous AC compressor(vane type, no longer used I believe). Mazda for the most part is put together well and is quite functional, good styling, good performance, excellent brakes and handling but parts and repairs are expensive. If you must buy a Mazda, pay about $2500 less than a comparable vehicle with a top reliability rating. More

A 99P Multi-Point Inspection is conducted every time to alert the owner of service that needs attention. This inspection includes checking the battery performance. No mention was ever made to me of the condition of my battery terminal that was highly corroded. It reached a point where I was stranded on the parking lot because the car would not start and I had to jump-start the car. When I brought my car to the dealership they told me that the corroded battery terminal is not sold separately but comes with the electrical harness that cost $900.00. Installation would be another $500.00. Total cost to replace the battery terminal is $1,400.00! I was very disappointed with this information from Mazda service. What is the point of the Multi-Point Inspection if the dealership cannot highlight and address the corrosion of the battery terminal by correcting the problem before the customer is stranded on the street? Is the service department waiting for the point where the battery terminal needs to be replaced so they can charge $1,400.00? Is cleaning the battery terminal too small a job for the service department to even mention to the customer? I would like to know what the Mazda Puente Hills service department has to say about this and how they would remedy the situation. More
