Principal agreement over email was not honored I sent Puente Hills Mazda an email giving them a quoted lease deal from another local dealership. After a couple of back and forth emails and phone ca I sent Puente Hills Mazda an email giving them a quoted lease deal from another local dealership. After a couple of back and forth emails and phone calls, Tyler said he checked in with management about a price discussion we had over the phone and was told they were happy to match the deal from the other dealership. I chose Puente Hills since they were a bit closer to me. I regretted it. When I arrived, I was greeted by a new sales person, Daniel, since Tyler was unable to make it in that day. No biggie. Daniel went over the vehicle's features and we took a test drive. We got back to the dealership and Daniel started filling out information to obtain a credit check and the agreement to disclose my information to their marketing affiliates. I kept asking to make sure that pricing was indeed similar to what we discussed over the phone and email and was assured yes. This is when Sean came in. He printed out the email exchanges between Tyler and I and said yeah of course we can match it. Then he went to the sales office, came back, and told me in a very condescending way that he had no idea what vehicle the other dealership was selling since the MSRP was off by $40 (who cares??). In addition, the residual value was off. And there was no way they could match the price since the residual value wasn't correct. In the end, the payment was approximately $40 more a month after taxes from Puente Hills Mazda compared to the other dealership. Needless to say, I took my business to the other dealership. I would definitely not recommend Puente Hills Mazda as long as Sean is working there. The way he stormed out of our negotiation table and presented himself is not how a professional employee should ever act. TL;DR: Puente Hills Mazda agreed to price match a local competitor. When I arrived, they tried to get me to sign the lease with payments that were over 15% of what we agreed to. More
