Principle BMW of Corpus Christi responded

Candi, we are sorry to hear of your recent experience and for the delay in our response. The facility you took your vehicle to was given the proper instructions on the parts warranty over the phone and they agreed that they would communicate that with you. Being that they purchased the parts any refund would have gone to them at the price they paid, $486.37. That was the last communication that we had with them until you’re most recent visit we had assumed that the issue was resolved. It appears that they did not disclose that information to you properly. The warranty on the parts is provided by BMW NA and not BMW of Corpus Christi or Principle Auto so we have to adhere to their guidelines. BMW will have the vehicle connected to their system to determine where the failure has come from and then instruct the dealer on what action to take from there. We are researching the call records as to who you were reaching out to for 5 months but are unable to find record of any calls, can you please let us know who it was that you were trying to contact so that we can handle that and be sure that this does not happen going forward. bbristol@principleauto.com. Our technicians are not the only technicians qualified to put on a water pump however BMW does require that factory trained technicians verify the failure and communicate that through BMW's internal system. We would be happy to refund your money being that it does not come from BMW of Corpus Christi or Principle Auto, it comes from BMW NA. Of course we do have to follow there guidelines. We are reviewing our process to align with other manufactures as far as the parts warranty is concerned. BMW is one of the only manufactures that carries a parts warranty that is valid if the part is not installed by a factory trained technician. Most manufactures require that parts are installed by technicians that are trained to work on that specific vehicle in order to carry warranty. The reason is to prevent issues such as this one. As a dealership BMW of Corpus Christi will most likely be adopting the same policy so that our clients are not put in situations that you have been put in by this facility. Being that we are a company that carries itself with principles and integrity is the most important to us we will no longer sell parts to that facility being that they do not inform their clients properly or handle themselves with integrity. Thank you for making us aware of this issue.
