We're so sorry you didn't have the best experience. We follow Hyundai's recommended service intervals for severe climate areas, which New England is given the extreme hot and cold temperatures we experience with our seasonal changes. Hyundai recommends oil changes anywhere from 3,750 to 8,000 miles based on driving habits and environmental conditions based on where you live. The Hyundai complimentary maintenance program is a national program offered to all customers who purchase anywhere in the United States and since climate and conditions vary across the country their program coverage is centered around non-severe climates, which means they cover approximately 4 oil changes during the 3 year period. Since we live in a severe climate area oil changes are recommended by Hyundai sooner than 8,000 and therefore approximately every other oil change would be covered under the complimentary program through Hyundai in order to cover the 3 year period. Hyundai produced a video explaining their complimentary maintenance program and the intervals discussed above that can be found at the following link on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alF9EImWYfw We are sincerely sorry if there was any confusion about interval coverages, but I hope this explanation and the video on youtube will help to clarify that we follow Hyundai's recommended oil change intervals for the New England area. Maureen, we're so sorry you are unhappy with your experience at our dealership, however we wanted to clarify what happened because your engine was not ruined due to lack of oil in it. When you came in with an engine concern we followed Hyundai's procedures required in order to obtain an approval for an engine replacement. Once we received the approval, we ordered your engine and had to wait for Hyundai to ship it to us. What we received from Hyundai was a remanufactured engine and during the beginning of the installation process it was discovered that there was high resistance in the crank, which means the remanufactured engine they sent us was defective. In order to receive a replacement engine from Hyundai we had to go through the approval process again and submit photos and documentation that proved the engine was defective. The engine was not damaged due to lack of oil, internal components were defective upon receipt and because of that Hyundai sent us a replacement engine for your vehicle. You can certainly contact Hyundai directly to confirm this is what transpired with your engine replacement. We cannot speed up shipment of engines from Hyundai, all we can do is get on the job quickly once all parts arrive, which is what we did in order to get your vehicle back to you as quickly as possible. I'm very sorry you were not satisfied, but did everything within our power to repair your vehicle timely, some things are just out of our control. We wish you nothing but the best in the future. Correct. But the first replacement engine was ruined due to no oil in engine. That is why it had no resistant. Cars work much better with oil.
