I filled out an online form to speak with someone since it was over the Fourth of July holiday, and I knew it would be difficult to get the car scheduled for repair. The gentleman called me, said it would it was over the Fourth of July holiday, and I knew it would be difficult to get the car scheduled for repair. The gentleman called me, said it would be an easy fix and he and I diagnosed the issue over the phone. There was an issue with my gas tank, not allowing me to fill up ,so it was a component of the gas tank that needed replaced. I understand it’s difficult to get an appointment when you don’t have one scheduled. I was 800 miles from home and only in town for a few days. I feel they totally took advantage of me. After sitting in the waiting room for over six hours, Lillian, the service advisor, finally told me they had diagnosis my car. She told me they would need to replace the gas tank. It would be be $2100 to replace the entire gas tank. That was totally not necessary! Then she came back a few minutes later and said they no longer make the gas tank for my car so then the estimate was $3100. She knew I was from out of town and had a tight schedule to get back on the road. Thankfully, I realized that I had purchased the extended warranty. She made me frantically search for the information regarding my Warranty, and then she called me came out a few minutes later with the warranty information. She obviously knew where to find it!. When they heard that everything changed. It would then take 48 hours , at least, to fix my car since changing a gas tank is”complicated” and I was not a scheduled appointment. I watched a gentleman walk in and get a loaner vehicle. Apparently he was a friend of one of the receptionists and he got a loaner vehicle in under five minutes. When I requested a loaner vehicle she insisted that they had none. I am quite certain that they indeed had some, as this was a very busy dealership. They could have helped me, but chose not too since I had a warranty. They knew they weren’t going to make any money off of me.. When my vehicle repairs were finally complete I came back to the dealership to pick it up and they charged me $20 to put gas in the tank! Are you kidding me! She also informed me during the diagnosis that I had an item that was under recall that they would take care of. They did not! This experience was so stressful and unnerving for me. The 3 stars is in fact very generous. If I am ever broken down again in Stamford, I will have my car towed elsewhere. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau as well. More
