Hi rondilbeck, Thank you for your feedback. If you look in your owners manuals, you see a booklet for your tires. That booklet will go over the tires manufactures recommendations for maintenance. We want to help our guests tires last as long as possible and we do recommend a tire balance and alignment every 15,000 miles on vehicles. The items you've listed are preventative maintenance, not something that must be done. Guests are welcome to decline the services. There are services that are recommended because of us living in a very hot climate, just like there are services in cold parts of the country that they recommend that we don't. Owners manuals are guidelines and don't how all maintenance on all vehicles as Toyota Corp doesn't know where the vehicle will be living. Sunny, Sorry but I did look at the tire booklet that only recommends rotating tires proactively. Otherwise, it wear is shown (there was none in my case) there are some maintenance actions that can be taken. As for the argument of the hot climate, the car is registered in Oregon where it spends half of the year....the hot half. The home base for the Highlander was known at check-in so that argument rings hollow. Finally, the unnecessary items I mentioned were not presented to my wife such that she could opt out. They were described as part of the "standard 30K service". The battery cleaning was the only thing presented as optional and she declined that. I stand by my recommendations that owners need to be extra diligent when taking their cars to Precision for service.
