My wife and I drove 1.5 hours after work from Manhattan to see a used 2008 Acura RDX. We walked in and no one was there to greet us, Eric, the sales guy saw us but stayed on the phone. I had to approach More

My name is Mitchell Brenner and I am the e-Commerce manager at Precision Acura of Princeton. I was looking through the notes on your file to see if we could come to an agreement that is acceptable to all of us. I see that you were an eCommerce customer and were dealing with Tom Thornton over the Internet. Our price on this vehicle was originally $29,995 and we had recently lowered it to $28995 on the Internet. That is why there was less room to negotiate as we had already lowered the price. That being said, what do you feel would be a fair price for this car? What do you feel is a fair price for your trade in? If I can get you close on both, or either, are you still interested in purchasing this awesome SUV? Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this. Sincerely, Mitchell

This is Mitchell Brenner, the e-Commerce manager at Precision Acura of Princeton again. I'm sorry that your received the wrong impression from our dealership. After reading through the extensive correspondence between you and our Internet Salesperson, Thomas Thornton, it appears that you were already aware of the price on the vehicle before coming in. I'm sure if Tom knew you wanted a $3000 additional discount off our already discounted Internet price he would have told you that was not possible. As to your trade in, there really is no retail market for a 1999 Honda Prelude so we could only offer you what we felt we could get wholesale which is probably less than what KBB says but on older vehicles we just can't give more than what we feel we can get on the wholesale market. I know that the Acura Certified Pre-Owned vehicle you were inquiring about was already discounted from $29995 to $28995 on the Internet and we offered you the vehicle, while you were here, for $27,995 which is a very competitive offer. I'm sorry that we couldn't come to an agreement on price and that put a bad taste in your mouth about our dealership. Sometimes we just can't sell a vehicle for the price a customer wants us to. We are, after all is said and done, entitled to make a profit even if, in your case, it would have been a very small one. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you still have interest in a vehicle in the future. We will certainly do our best to satisfy you. Sincerely, Mitchell Brenner eCommerce Manager Precision Acura of Princeton

Sorry, I had not asked for $3000 off the price of $28,995. My initial offer was $26,500. It really doesn't make sense for me to pay $28,995 for a 2008 RDX base model when I only need to pay $4000 more for a newer 2009 model with Tech Package with the same or less mileage which can be found on the Acura CPO page.
