Portsmouth Ford

My experience with Portsmouth Ford was very disappointing. I chose a car, they took the title to my car and told me they’d have the title for the care I was buying in a couple days. When I call a few days later they said it would be another month before they could get the title. so they had this car on the lot for a month, showing it to people and literally sold it to me but couldn’t provide the title. Then why show the car? Or tell people up front they you don’t have the title and won’t have it for at least a month. I think that is very sketchy sales practices. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. More

I had a vehicle that I wanted to purchase. I stopped in, looked at the vehicle and decided that I was interested in it. The Salesman who showed it to me was disinterested, in my business to say the least, n looked at the vehicle and decided that I was interested in it. The Salesman who showed it to me was disinterested, in my business to say the least, never even asked for my name when I told him that I wanted to think about it. The next day I called and talked to Spencer, who was very helpful. I told him that I definitely wanted the vehicle and asked him if he needed a deposit with which to hold the truck. He told me the truck was available and that I did not need a deposit and that my approved credit application was sufficient for keeping the truck from being sold. Spencer asked if we wanted a bed liner to which we agreed, and since we were away, we set up an appointment to complete the paperwork the upon our return. Two days later, we get a phone call from spencer, giving us the bad news that the truck that was supposed to be held for us was sold. I called the Sales manager,Shane, who returned my call. He confirmed that the vehicle had been sold to another buyer even though it had been promised to me. When I asked if he felt this was ethical, he responded with, you did not sign any paperwork. How is this ethical I asked. He responded with I have no problem with our decision. Really!! After declining my offer to leave a deposit, I was assured that my already submitted and approved credit application was sufficient to hold the vehicle. To say the least, I am extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism and communication from this dealership. More
