We are long time leasing customers with Portsmouth Ford 25+ years. We recently built our own Explorer, we have always had a positive experience with Portsmouth Ford. I test drove some vehicles, picked one I liked + agreed on a price. I went through financing that week and came back on Saturday to pick up the car and only when I was in the finance office. Did I pick up on a price. I went through financing that week and came back on Saturday to pick up the car and only when I was in the finance office. Did I pick up on something odd? The price was excessive and I asked to take out the warranty information. He kept shoving at me. What is the price of the car? I asked? Amazingly it had gone up $2,000. I asked my salesman what happened. He told me there was a mistake and they had to fix it. I asked when he knew there was a mistake and why didn't they call me during the week to let me know? Why wasn't this mentioned upon my showing up? Why did I have to find out in the finance office as they were trying to sneak it in with all the additional items. In the end my salesman said there was absolutely nothing he could do. They couldn't give me free detailing every year or free floor mats. Nothing. I told him to go put the plates back on my car cuz I would be driving my original one home. Within 2 hours I was at another dealer signing papers on the same car for the price we agreed upon at Portsmouth Ford. More
