We took our truck in for a recall. We dropped it off at 7:30am which was the appointment time made by me. Lyle told us we could probably pick the car up at 1pm. So I called at 12:00pm to be sure everything 7:30am which was the appointment time made by me. Lyle told us we could probably pick the car up at 1pm. So I called at 12:00pm to be sure everything was still on target (we are 30 minutes away). The first time I went right to his extension no answer so I called back. The receptionist answered the phone, I asked her if our truck was ready she asked me who we spoke to I said Lyle she immediately transferred the call. I called back told her I just wanted to know if our truck was ready she told me she couldn't tell me, so I asked if there was someone else who could help me she said yes Lyle. I said he is not answering his phone is there someone else, she said No. She proceeded to tell me whoever writes up the car when you drop it off is who you have to speak to when you come to get your car. I asked to speak to a supervisor she hung up on me. So we drove to the dealer, when we arrived we were told Lyle was at lunch, which we already knew. I asked if our car was ready, we were once again told Lyle was at lunch. At this point I got angry. Told them I don't care where Lyle is I want the truck back now and demanded my keys. All of a sudden he was able to help us. Looked up the truck and said it was done. Then proceeded to do the upsell. Ok great, we don't want anything else fixed can you give me back my keys? I had to demand the keys before they would give them to me. There customer service is horrible. This is my second dealing with them the other was about 3 years ago and was just as poor. Thought someone was having a bad day, now I know it is the service department! More
Had my suv towed to Porter because the transmission was thumping down hard, the service engine soon light came on and when I pulled off the road to call my husband to say I was having problems, the vehicle thumping down hard, the service engine soon light came on and when I pulled off the road to call my husband to say I was having problems, the vehicle wouldn't start. We were told the radiator was leaking fluid into the trans and it would require a $6000 new transmission. Apparently this is so much of a problem Nissan issued an extended warrenty for it, but not a recall, however my miles were too high even though it was still under the 8 years. It wouldn't be covered. When we asked if the $6000 is for a new transmission, we were told Nissan doesn't rebuild transmissions. We went ahead with what we were told was a new transmission. We were also told we could pay by check with my license. I went to pick up my car and no, they couldn't accept my check because they have no history with us. I had to call my bank and increase my card so we could pay and pick up my vehicle. On the way home, the trans clunked and the service engine soon light came back on... The car went back 3 more times within a week.. Mechanics couldn't diagnose the problem because the trans wasn't making the sound for them and the computer wasn't communicating.. Then, the next day my car wouldn't start! We had a neighborhood mechanic bring his computer to our house and it said the car was in "drive" as it was clearly sitting there in PARK! After another miserable confrontational conversation with Porter's service manager, Dave Ferguson, they came and towed it back to the dealership...We are still waiting for their bullcrap excuse now! And by the way, my transmission was a "remaned transmission", transalation: rebuilt! Porter is fraudulant, rude, untrained, and customer service is awful.. I feel Porter stole $6000 from me and still hasn't fixed what was originally wrong. I want my car fixed! And Nissan needs to stand behind their products and issue a full recall on this issue. I will say, we were given a "free"(although I am not sure what I paid $6000 for yet) rental after the 2nd and 3rd time..However, the always rude service manager, Dave Ferguson, tried to charge us for an extra day even though they still had my car! And now the 4th time, a car wasn't even offered! More
Spent $390 to diagnose a problem and to replace an o2 sensor after they "found" the problem. Had to go back to the dealership twice after they "fixed" the problem because my check engine light came back sensor after they "found" the problem. Had to go back to the dealership twice after they "fixed" the problem because my check engine light came back on with the same code that they originally "fixed" Worthless mechanics! More
My engine light was on and I decided to use the "free check engine light" coupon from Porter Nissan. The engine was checked, and I was told that my Rear oxygen sensor, and "cylinder one misfiring" were t check engine light" coupon from Porter Nissan. The engine was checked, and I was told that my Rear oxygen sensor, and "cylinder one misfiring" were the issues. I was quoted $69 for a diagnostic (free check engine??), to further assess the cylinder misfiring. Also, I was told that my catalytic converter was "old, rusted, as it is the original part" (1996 Nissan 200sx), and if the converter cracked while trying to remove the sensor, that I would be responsible, and the cost to replace the converter would be $675. I decided to take my car to another auto service shop (one that I use regularly). Nissan ended up charging me $89.95 ("free check engine" coupon??). I took my car to Delaware Tire Center, tire/auto service shop, and they checked my engine again (free!!). The service advisor explained that the problem was definitely my rear oxygen sensor, stating that it appears that I may have hit something while driving, which knocked/damaged the sensor. Also, the advisor stated that eleven months ago, my catalytic converter was changed by THEM! I feel that I was given incorrect information about my car (from Nissan), and will not be taking my vehicle back to Porter Nissan for service again. Making money appears to be their first priority. I had a transmission service done on my 05 Frontier. One week later I experienced transmission trouble. Returning to the dealer they said I will need a new tranny, out of waranty. I towed the truck to a tra week later I experienced transmission trouble. Returning to the dealer they said I will need a new tranny, out of waranty. I towed the truck to a trans shop which found nothing wrong. I believe when they did the Porter did the flush and fill they did not put enough fluid in. More
I bought an 18,000 dollar car on 4/12/04 and 10 days later had a flat because the chrome plating on the wheels is breaking the seal between the rim and the tire. All they offered to do is scrape off t later had a flat because the chrome plating on the wheels is breaking the seal between the rim and the tire. All they offered to do is scrape off the LOOSE chrome and reseal the tire and put them back on with guarantee that it will not happen again. I looked on the NHTSA website and this is a known complaint with this vehicle. More
