Talked to this dealership about buying a difficult-to-find BMW model (used, with a damage incident on the Carfax), and decided to buy a similar car from a dealer in Chicago instead because I difficult-to-find BMW model (used, with a damage incident on the Carfax), and decided to buy a similar car from a dealer in Chicago instead because I didn’t want to support them. Amaechi kept playing the “I used to sell these cars, this one will sell almost immediately” card and pressured me to commit to purchasing. Since I’m located in SoCal, I was able to find a friend to test drive for me, and we set up that test drive a couple days beforehand. Despite that, when my friend arrived at the dealership (on a Saturday afternoon, with kids in tow because he had committed to helping me out but had some family stuff come up), he was told (after a 30+ minute wait) that he couldn’t drive the car because it hadn’t been properly processed. On top of that, Amaechi had the xxxxx to call me the next business day (Monday, because for some reason this particular dealership doesn’t operate on Sundays) and tell me that I needed to put in a deposit if I wanted them to hold the car. I told him that I didn’t think it was likely that someone would buy a $40k car without a test drive, so go ahead… and started looking online for alternatives. I found one almost immediately; it’s costing me a few thousand more to buy, but I think it’s worth it to not deal with a sales team that’s proven to be problematic. More
