John had great product knowledge and imparted that knowledge in a very friendly nature. Two test drives were required upon initial viewing and that was appreciated. I was "checking the landscape" of german cars as I anticipated making a purchase this year. The showroom was immaculate, the cars were beautiful, and the people were friendly and engaging. What struck me most was the respect shown to my son as he eyed the cars (and even sat in one or two). Instead of being condescending or rude, the staff was pleasant and nice to my son. Perhaps they saw the potential of a future buyer. Fast forward to last week. I was searching for a fun, beautiful, German convertible (I've owned BMW, VW, and Mercedes cars previously - there's just something wonderful about them all). I test drove Mercedes, VW, and BMWs earlier in the week. All have great appeal, if for different reasons. I really went in to Brumo's to make sure I shouldn't be considering Porsche. I was greeted by the receptionist who introduced me to Keith. Keith is a Porsche enthusiast and was immediately engaging. I saw the Boxter that I ultimately bought... and it was the car version of "love at first sight." I drove the car, and I loved it. And I appreciated the genuine interest and non-salesy approach that Keith took with me. As I generally do with a purchase like this, I went home to sleep on it. The next morning, I decided to drive the car once more and if I liked it - I'd buy it. I didn't realize Keith was off, but Brandon (the General Sales Manager) was extremely helpful and informative - and let me know that Keith would still get full credit for any purchase I might make. Brandon introduced me to a different sales person whose name I unfortunately don't remember. But, true to form, he was also helpful and kind as he accompanied me on my second test drive. Something felt off for me on that second drive, and I wasn't as connected to the car as I thought I had been on the first drive. On driving back into the dealership parking lot, I realized the car had been in SPORT mode for the entirety of my second drive. I don't prefer the sport mode - and it made a difference to me. Already feeling as though I was borrowing the sales person's time, I thanked him and left. But I was still unresolved. I had a break later in the day, so I called Brandon back and explained the situation - and asked if I could take a short drive in the normal mode. He encouraged me to come in and he'd help me out. So - that's what I did. I really prefer the car in normal mode - and my connection with my soon-to-be-car was restored. Later that day I texted Brandon to let him know I accepted the deal we had hammered out. What he did next was wonderful - in that I enjoyed it AND it helped further connect me to this car. Brandon texted me a photo of the car with a "SOLD" tag on the window. I was that much more "in". I took delivery the following day and it couldn't have gone more smoothly. I feel as though I was introduced to every person working in the dealership - and they were all exceptionally engaged, happy, and encouraging. It was without a doubt the best delivery experience I've ever had - reassuring me that I made a great decision to buy that car - and from Brumo's Porsche. Great car, great people, great business sense. I couldn't recommend Brumo's more highly. More
The shady tactics used by Brandon Starks and Roger Edmondson of the Brumos sales team in their attempt to manipulate me were completely transparent and nothing short of pathetic. They should be ashamed, but I'm sure they are not. I've owned several Porsche 911s and I could not believe that a Porsche dealership would use such juvenile and deceptive tactics just to make a few dollars. They will never get my money. Buyer beware! I requested that Eric "go through" a car I just bought on Craigs list, 1981 911 SC. I just wanted oil change and check up, Eric recommended starting with valves adjust. I thought that was a good idea, well the engine had 4 broken head studs, needed cam chain tensioners, had a broken valve spring, and needed syncros. The estimate was $16,000. Eric documented the work with photos of the entire rebuild and Jennifer gave me a Cayenne Hybrid to drive home 205 miles, then sent a team later to pick up the car...unreal. Thats how I bought my Cayenne S, I drove one as a service loaner while having my 911s serviced (1,200). So far this year, besides the 911SC, I have taken Brumos my 2008 911s, 2010 911 C4s Cab, and bought my Cayenne S at Brumos. Each time I purchase a car, I bring it to Brumos, and request they give the car a Major service, usually about $1,200. I brought a 1975 914 and delivered it to Brumos to have restored, Eric and Blair looked through the car, taking photos and spending a month with the car, and suggested I look for another car. I sold the 914 and bought the 911SC to create a "59" Tribute car. I hope you all see the car when it is done, hopefully before the 24 hours of Daytona. The 1981 911 SC will remain at Brumos, as I requested they transform the car into a Number 59 "tribute" car, as a tribute to Hurley Haywood, I am hoping he autographs the dashboard. The Brumos team is excited about the project. I remember when I purchased my first car there, 2003 996 C4s, they were celebrating the 24 hours team, I bought the car and Hurley signed a hat for me, they gave me a signed hat, t-shirt and nice key fabs for each key. It was a magical night I will never forget. Brumos is the only dealer I know of that actually surrounds the brand with a lifestyle and a culture that I believe many are attempting to duplicate, unfortunately for the competition, they are not firing on all cylinders. I would like to own the dealership in Tallahassee, I am very disappointed in there level of service. I drive all my cars daily, so service is critical to me, unfortunately, I cannot trust my home town dealership Capital Eurocars. Warm regards, Lonnie Salimone 850.321.5364. John Schaefer is one of the most professional salespeople you will ever deal with. He was so accomadating and engaging he made me and my wife truly feel at home. He even went so far as to personally clean you will ever deal with. He was so accomadating and engaging he made me and my wife truly feel at home. He even went so far as to personally clean my old license plate so it would have a nice appearence when placed on my new Porsche. Brumos Porsche is very fortunate to have John representing their dealership as we all know "word of mouth" is always the best advertisement for any business...as for John he is 5 star all the way !!!
