Coming out of the fog For years I've been eyeing BMW convertibles, but was always a little leery of the rwd. I actually came in test drive a beautiful Cadillac CTS and a ni For years I've been eyeing BMW convertibles, but was always a little leery of the rwd. I actually came in test drive a beautiful Cadillac CTS and a nifty BMW 528i. When I learned the Beemer had been sold, I settled on a nice Lexus ES350 to test with the Caddy. I also noticed this sexy BMW 328i convertible in the corner, looked at it a little lustily, but decided to walk away. After my two tests, I'd decided on the Caddy. As we were walking back into the showroom, the very wonderful Shaun Elling asked if I wanted to try anything else. On a lark, I decided to try the convertible. After the test, I knew I was in trouble, because I was in love with the car I dared not think was feasible! After a long time of trying to figure which car to go for (the Caddy or the Beemer), Shaun suggested I go home and sleep on it. That led to an evening of asking anyone who'd listen to me which car to pick. Most everyone said the CTS, but I wasn't convinced, so, sleep on it I did. The next morning, I was still in a quandary. By the time I met with Shaun, I was in such a state, I couldn't think straight, nor see the picture clearly due to the fog of indecision. This is where Shaun really came to the rescue. She asked just the right questions to get me to think more clearly, mostly concentrating on my dream of one day owning a BMW convertible, but also trying to alleviate my fears of the rwd. Finally, she convinced me to take a another test drive if the two vehicles. While I really enjoyed the Caddy, I realized the decision was made when I found myself smiling uncontrollably while driving the Beemer. To really seal the deal, Shaun burst into a big smile when I gave her my decision, and assured me it was the right one. I'm now the proud owner of that sexy little 328i hardtop convertible! The take away from all this is Shaun did not pressure me to make a decision, nor did she act like my wavering was a hassle for her. She was very calm, understanding and helpful, guiding me to where I needed to go. And there's no doubt she would've supported any decision I'd make; she "just wanted me to be happy with (my) choice" (her words). That is true salesmanship. -Jon Wallin More
