I saw all their ads on Craigslist and I just couldn't believe some of the prices so I decided to check it out. When I got there around 2 pm in the afternoon, the lady behind the counter asked if I needed believe some of the prices so I decided to check it out. When I got there around 2 pm in the afternoon, the lady behind the counter asked if I needed any help. I said sure, and asked her if she has any Carfax for three cars I was interested in. She said no. SO I said ok, i'll just look around then. I went to the cars that I was interested and wrote down all three vin numbers. Went home and looked them up. Wouldn't you know it, two cars had odometer reports that were fishy and one car had an accident. People, open your eyes and use your brain! If it sounds too good to be true, it is!!!! Have you not notice the huge number of cars that have very low miles? Where the heck could they be getting these cars? It's not like they are some huge dealership with a large multistate wide network! Basically just use your brain. It is very rare to find a 2002-2004 car with less than 60K miles on it but somehow Pool's Auto had 6 of them the last time I checked. More
Car that my daughter and her boyfriend bought was inspected by the shop owner uses down the road. Would not have passed an inspection at reputable garage. The check engine light was on at the time. inspected by the shop owner uses down the road. Would not have passed an inspection at reputable garage. The check engine light was on at the time. They "fixed" that issue but within 3 months they had to have alot of work put into the car just to be able to drive. They are coming up on 1 year and the car will never pass another inspection because the frame near the rear tires has major holes and is barely holding together. They spend $3000 - you would expect more out of a car for that much. More
Avoid this place like a plague. First, we arrived and my wife went inside to ask for the keys for the car she was interested in. A friendly employee gave her the keys and she brought them out to start 'er wife went inside to ask for the keys for the car she was interested in. A friendly employee gave her the keys and she brought them out to start 'er up. The owner came RUNNING over to us yelling, "who gave you those keys!?!" My wife told him and he immediately ran back in the shop and fired the helpful employee (probably the only one on the lot.) He then had a female employee drive the car into the repair bay for us to look at. We get the car into the shop and I notice that the engine is making an odd noise near the fan belt area. So I ask him what his warranty policy is and he says, "first 30 days, anything goes wrong, we split it, 50/50. If you want better than that, go to Doan and buy a new car." I asked him about the noise and he says, "oh, we just detailed it (in the snow?) and it's just wet. The longer the car runs, the louder the noise gets. So I said, if in the first 30 days this noise doesn't go away, you need to fix this, 100%, at no cost to me. He agrees. Then I told him I wanted it written into the contract to which he reluctantly agrees. Then I ask him if I have a 72 hour return policy so I can have my own mechanic look at the car first. Suddenly he says that he's so upset about the "key" situation that he isn't going to sell the car and that we should just leave. After reading the other reviews, it's clear that this guy is a crook that doesn't honor his verbal agreements and when he absolutely must, apparently uses his own (conflict of interest) mechanic up the street. While it appears a few customers have gotten lucky, people only get rid of cars because there is a problem with them and this guy apparently is only in it for himself, with no interest in properly addressing problems or standing by the product he sells. Once again, RUN, DON'T WALK TO THE NEXT DEALER. YOU WILL BE SORRY IF YOU BUY A CAR OFF THIS LOT. More
Bought an 02 caravan from this dealer, had some driveability issues, so I ran a scan tool on it-pulled 2 trouble codes, both of which should have lit the check engine light. Turns out that a piece driveability issues, so I ran a scan tool on it-pulled 2 trouble codes, both of which should have lit the check engine light. Turns out that a piece of black electrical had been stuck over the check engine light to conceal it. Outright fraud! I don't know how this vehicle ever passed a legal inspection. Also, office manager (Debbie) was rude and condesending. More
If you decide to stop to see what they have on the lot....unless you have lot of money for "hidden" problems, RUN don't walk right on by. Bought a used vehicle from this crook in February. It had a " lot....unless you have lot of money for "hidden" problems, RUN don't walk right on by. Bought a used vehicle from this crook in February. It had a "carfax" attachted to the vehicle..Not very reliable in my opinion. He (Bob)won't allow you to have anybody else look at the car before you purchase it..( that should have been my first clue).. He wants you to take it to "his mechanic" at a shop down the road.( supposably an independant shop he does business with and is not tied to). He also won't cover any repairs unless his mechanic (shop down the road, that is supposably independant of him) does the work. We had it 4 days and it wouldn't start... starter went.. had it towed to my shop in in Webster to see what the problem was. Then had it towed to His mechanic in spencerport after I found out the problem because he wouldn't cover the repairs. He claimed the repair shouldn't be covered, but he did it out of the goodness of his heart...claimed our mechanic caused more repair than necesary when he looked at the starter...claimed it wasn't the starter. BS... 3 weeks later the U-joint went, contacted him, he wanted to me to send it to his shop again, this time he wasn't covering the repair, even though it was part of the transaxle...I took it to my own shop, thank you... I know it was fixed right...last month had to have a new transfer case. Now we're looking at 4 new tires...so we're into the vehicle for nearly as much as we paid for it...Its an older vehicle so I expected some problems, but this is ridiculous. This guy is a fast talker... Lessons learned!. More
25 days after purchase....Reneged on promises to make seemingly minor repairs. Fan for heater did not work unless on high. Promised on several occasions to repair w/part from another used vehicle. 5 days seemingly minor repairs. Fan for heater did not work unless on high. Promised on several occasions to repair w/part from another used vehicle. 5 days before 30-day warranty about to end, said he would not be honoring that promise. Also, all lights on rear driver side went out, including the hazard light! The only person who had ever touched the tail light was a tech from an auto repair shop up the road, which replaced a backup light 2 weeks earlier at the dealers direction.I was repeatedly asked who touched the light. "All of the bulbs were loose". Hmmmm?? I am not happy about being lied to but am glad I did not take my friend there to buy her car after I told her what a great deal and service I was receiving. I was convinced to purchase the waranty, not sure yet if that was a good move or not. we'll see. Vehicle had high mileage so not covered by lemon law. At this time, I would not trust this dealer to sell me a bicycle tire! Nor will I allow him to suggest a repair shop for me. Looks like they are making work for themselves! More
I happened to see a car I was interested in as I was on my way home from test driving another car at another dealer. I asked the owner if I could test drive and he told me it would be a hassle to locate pl my way home from test driving another car at another dealer. I asked the owner if I could test drive and he told me it would be a hassle to locate plates and he would need to know if i'd be willing to buy the car that night. I said I would need to drive the car to know if i would even consider buying. The short version is he was asking 3,900. After an hour of un-needed sales pressure, I offered 3,200 and he said 3,600 and I walked away. I just saw the car advertised on-line for 5,500. I don't know what he's trying to pull but it should stop. More
I saw an ad on the internet for a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee at Pool Auto Sales on West Ridge Road in Spencerport. I only live about 5 mintues away in Hilton and thought I would drive up to take a look Cherokee at Pool Auto Sales on West Ridge Road in Spencerport. I only live about 5 mintues away in Hilton and thought I would drive up to take a look. I saw online that they're open 7 days a week including Sunday 9-6. I went up on Sunday and the place was locked up and cars blocking the entrance. A waste of time going up, also no note on the doors or anything else. I went back monday (today) and drove up parked infront of the Jeep got out and started to look at it. Two young guys standing outside and asked if I needed help, I asked how many miles were on it and if I could have the keys to look inside. He said "hold on a minute", went inside and came back out asking if I can come in. So I did into this very small little office with about 5 desks in it. The "boss" started asking me every single question possible about my current car. I told him I am not trading it in and I would need financing. First let me point out the sign on the "barn", I mean "office" says "FINANCING AVAILABLE." The "boss/old guy" said well here's what I do, I tell people to see if they can get the loan first and then come back and look at the car. I stood puzzled thinking I can't even look inside of it to see if I like it. He then starts rambling on about how he has a wholesaler interested in it and says well he's called me like 5 times and he's really interested. I was fed up at this point with the lack of respect and ignorance of this dealer. I said fine and walked out the door. I SUGGEST IF YOU WANT TO LOOK INSIDE OF THE CAR AT ALL, YOU BE READY TO BY THE CAR WITHOUT SEEING IT OTHERWISE HE'LL HAVE A BUNCH OF SMART xxx REMARKS FOR YOU. Absolutely rediculous the way he acted along with his puppets he calls employees. DO NOT even bother with this dealer. More
Between all the people in my family we have bought 5 cars from this dealership. Against my own judgement i went to someone else this time and got screwed over. I then called Bob Sr ( who remembered me and my from this dealership. Against my own judgement i went to someone else this time and got screwed over. I then called Bob Sr ( who remembered me and my family even though he hadn't seen us in 2 years) and told him my situation. I told him how much i could spend and he told me he would get on it. This is a great place because you tell him what you can spend and he will find you something. The last car lasted just over 2 years and we only payed 1,100 for it and that is a good deal for that cheap. You tell him what kind of car you want he will do everything he can to help you. I truly wish I had done what I wanted and went here first it would have saved me a lot of headaches. So yes i recommend them to everyone, don't regret going somewhere else later like I do. More
