I had a 9am service appointment. I was told it would be about a 90 minute wait. Seemed long but I accepted it. After 90 minutes, I asked when my vehicles would be done. We don't know if they do a good job mechanically, as we never got any service. We made an appointment for 9 am Saturday morning. At 11, (2 hours later) when we asked about our car, we were told it was go never got any service. We made an appointment for 9 am Saturday morning. We took the car and left. Very bad management. They lied to us about when the car was going in for service. More
Awful experience and waste of time. I had went to Pohanka Honda because I was interested in getting a new Honda Civic. On May 6th, I had spoken to their one of their salesmen, Joel I had went to Pohanka Honda because I was interested in getting a new Honda Civic. On May 6th, I had spoken to their one of their salesmen, Joel English, and decided to put a deposit down to hold one of the incoming Civics as they didn't have any on lot. Joel had told me that it would take approximately 2 weeks for the car to arrive. I had waited 3 weeks for the car, checking in once or twice a week to see how things were looking as I know things are difficult currently but every time I was assured it was on its way. On May 26th, I received a call from Joel in the morning and he asked me "What was the best news you could hear today?". He then told me that car is expected to arrive by the end of the day. I was told that the reason that it took so long for the car to arrive had to with a tire exploding on one of the delivery trucks but everything is okay now. After work, I had called him and he told me that the delivery truck had not came but he thinks it'll be there by the end of the weekend. He told me that he would be gone for a few days so another salesman will help me if it does arrive. On May 27th, I called them to get a status update on the car. I talked to a salesman and he told me that my car had not even entered production yet and he was unclear when it would arrive, he approximated 3 weeks. Very upset and confused by this, I asked to talk to a manager. The manager told me that the car was actually in production and should be finished by that following Monday but would still take about 3 weeks to get there. He told me that they somehow got my car mixed up with another car. I had heard 3 conflicting statuses about my car from 3 different people. My car was simultaneously arriving at any minute, in production, and non-existent. After the call, I drove there and asked for a refund on my deposit. I have heard nothing from Joel since this happened. Pohanka Honda and Joel English either lied, were too incompetent to keep up with my car, or both. This was my first car buying experience and they made it a terrible waste of time. I understand times are tough and I am willing to be patient but there is no excuse for poor business and dishonesty. I will never go back and I urge all to stay away. More
Vacationing an hour away at the beach every warning light lit up in my sons CRV. We called Pohanka Honda and they said they could take in our car right away, no appointment needed! Upon arrival Ryan in serv lit up in my sons CRV. We called Pohanka Honda and they said they could take in our car right away, no appointment needed! Upon arrival Ryan in service explained the process, and took the car. They were able to not only work on the car that same day- but they had a van to take us to get lunch and bring us back. The car was fixed, and they found it was under warranty! Ryan and Alexa in service we’re very helpful and professional. THANK YOU POHANKA! More
This should have been a simple visit but it turned into an ordeal. Short version, they gave me a service bulletin which said the noise in question ended after 3 minutes but in my case it continued while dr an ordeal. I only wanted an explanation - never asked them to get rid of the noise - just asked to explain why it continued past the three minutes but this turned into a nightmare of wasted time, multiple phone calls, visits and still no explanation. Customer service was terrible. They kept my car for 4 weeks and for some inexplicable reason did a suspension adjustment which was not even related to the problem that was already identified in the service bulletin. Isn’t suspension adjustment done in less than a day??! More

Just a lot of bickering they thought were routine negotiations that an unsophisticated buyer might have been easily convinced they were getting the best deal. I was not. The home delivery , however, was a complete fiasco. We had a bad winter storm the day and night before the scheduled delivery. I text the person scheduled to deliver the morning of the delivery to delay delivery for a couple hours so that the roads had time to clear plus because of school closings I had a 5 year old grand daughter to look after . He refused said he had to pick up his kids from Day care but said he could deliver it a different day. I agreed and told him you may deliver it the next day. He refused saying he had appointments. I was reluctant to respond in fact was quite angered and was about to text back and tell him to forget it if you can’t honor my requests, which were no fault of mine then only bad things could potentially happen. Before I could respond, about two minutes, he wrote, “My GPS says I’ll be there at 10:30 AM. In other words he had zero intention of delivering on my schedule without regard to the weather, road conditions and my obligations but was intent on shoving his schedule down my throat. I Notified his Sales Manager that The truck was delivered against my wishes completely covered in salt, ice, snow, and the oily film transportation applies to roadways to preclude freezing. I spent hours, in fact more than 15 and still working trying to get the salt off that was in every crack and cranny on the truck and the road film covered the paint and glass. Terrible. I wanted compensated for my time, effort and supplies that they could have easily rectified by taking it through a car wash just prior to delivery. Plus I had provided them with a showroom new professionally detailed heated garage kept truck with less than 2300 miles and a full tank of gas. I asked that they at least top off the gas in their delivery Truck or pay me for just 3 gallons of gas. I have given them every opportunity to respond including filing a Google review and a formal complaint with the BBB. Unfortunately , its my impression, based on my personal experience with Pohanka Honda of Salisbury that this is a place who believes Customer service are just words and that their application doesn’t apply to them. Additionally, again through what I experienced that this is a dealership who's personal arrogance outweighs their ability to admit they were wrong and make a timely effort to reach a resolution.. In over 50 years of buying and leasing new cars and trucks Pohanka Honda of Salisbury Maryland ranks nearly dead last in competency and commitment to a buyer friendly dealership environment.
