I bought a truck from Platinum Sales in January and while the initial dealings were fine, the after sales dealings were frustrating. We agreed on a price with new tires to be installed and had to wait a week the initial dealings were fine, the after sales dealings were frustrating. We agreed on a price with new tires to be installed and had to wait a week for that to be taken care of, slight inconvenience, but hey I finally have my truck. Drive it home on a Friday night and find that the heater is blowing mildly warm air, thankfully had electric seat warmers and a heated steering wheel. Texted them of the problem when I got home that night. (The vehicle was always running with the heat and seat warmers on when I went to road test and pick up the vehicle, so did not notice the heat not working). The next morning I drove a half mile from home and went to take a left at an intersection and the power steering failed completely, had to muscle the truck back home. I arranged to have it towed thru AAA to get it back to their shop to help them out. After getting the run around on when the vehicle was going to be done, three weeks later it was supposedly ready to pick up. While they had it, they supposedly also fixed the heater issue which they were told by their mechanic that it was a thermostat issue. Their last thing to do was an alignment since the rack unit was replaced, which supposedly was done. I pick up the vehicle and am told the heat is all seat and when I check, nope, it was the same as before...vehicle running, heater on, seat warmers on. I could not leave it with them any longer as I had been out of work for three weeks waiting for the steering rack replacement. I told them I would have to bring the vehicle back another time. I take the vehicle home, drove for almost a week and went to get it inspected and it failed, bad ball joints they said. I worked at a garage for 11 years and we did front end repairs so I am very knowledgeable about front ends and I know you can't do an alignment with parts that are worn out in the front end, they won't hold the alignment specs. So either their mechanic lied about being able to do an alignment, or Platinum knew about the ball joints and just gave it back in hopes it would pass inspection and would be my problem down the road. So, it went back to them again for the ball joint replacement and another attempt at the heater issue. Ball joints took a few days to get done and when I ask about the heater I'm told that their mechanic for that is on vacation for two weeks. Not willing to lose my vehicle sitting in a lot somewhere for 2 weeks I went back and picked it up so I could go back to work. I live an hour from the dealership and making all these trips back and forth costs time and money that I'll never recoup. The vehicle goes back a few weeks later for another attempt at the heater, dropped off on a Sunday for a Monday appt. I texted on Tuesday for an update and was told their mechanic had an emergency and initially told they were going to have another mechanic look at it. After a few more back and forth texts I was told the mechanic's mother passed away and there was not another mechanic going to look at it. I went up to pick it up and talk to the manager and had an agreement that I would have the truck looked at by my mechanic, have him diagnose the issue and provide me with a price, I would pass the diagnosis to Platinum so their mechanic can provide them a price. If the difference between the two estimates was small enough I could decide to have it fixed by my mechanic and pay the difference, if the difference was too much then I would bring it back to them. It took a week for Platinum to get back to me on the estimate and said they have a budget of $300 for the heater core. I asked if there mechanic was saying he could replace it for $300, as my mechanic stated it was over 9 hours to replace it. Almost 10 days later I get a response stating of the $1600+ estimate for a heater core replacement from my mechanic, that they would only reimburse me $300. Now mind you, this was the very first issue that became apparent with the ve More
