Stephen Grant, an assistant manager, made errors in completing paperwork and failed to disclose verbally a $288.00 documentation fee. The registration paperwork was returned to us from the registry of motor vehicles because of the errors made by Planet Subaru representatives in completing the forms. When we requested a refund of our $288.00, we were told maybe they were just unable to satisfy us. The best they could do is offer $25.00 toward our overnight costs and suggested they could probably not make us happy. Cory did not have the air filter changed when completing the 15,000 mile service and was insulting when we pointed out that the warranty requires the air filter to be changed at 15,000 miles and they were supposed to perform that service before delivering the car. He dropped an air filter on the desk and said we could take this with us. We finally asked to speak with the owner, Jeff Morrill, who was pleasant and offered to cover our overnight costs and explained how often the lives of their salespeople were threatened by customers as a reason Cory may have suggested we take our business elsewhere. We are not sure what that had to do with us as we made no threats. We did suggest that we may seek resolution in small claims court if we could not resolve this issue with the management. We had intended to return to purchase another Subaru from them and will now look elsewhere. We also will not use their service department. Under no circumstances would I recommend doing business with this company. Once the salesperson has closed the deal, they are done. More
Follow up to above review. The Con has been confirmed!! The Car passed inspection at a different state inspection station. They concurred that the tires and brakes were fine and the dealer was just looking The Car passed inspection at a different state inspection station. I will never buy from or receive service from planet Subaru again. This dealer was insincere from the moment the salesman told me that they were a low pressure type of dealer. I realized this after the Subaru again. This dealer was insincere from the moment the salesman told me that they were a low pressure type of dealer. I realized this after the 5th call within 4 weeks after my initial inquiry. The service department is inept. I have been there twice now for warranty issues; neither of which have been resolved. The first was a shutter in the steering wheel when turning to the right. Apparently it was my imagination. The second one was a metal rattle in the front end. They could not find or fix this problem either, but they had no problem telling me I needed new tires and brakes on a car they sold me 10,000 miles ago!!! In fact, they told me they would not pass my state inspection unless they put on new tires and brakes!!! This place is a total scam and some of the service writers are con men/women. Be very wary of planet subaru!!! More
I bought my car here. The experience was good, the people were very friendly and were not pushy, and the price was reasonable. I actually really liked this dealership at first. But then I would fi people were very friendly and were not pushy, and the price was reasonable. I actually really liked this dealership at first. But then I would find that it was nearly impossible to schedule service with them. They would even want you to leave it overnight for an oil change. And any small fix required the car to stay all day. It seemed as if they were just not equipped to do any kinds of repairs outside of the most basic services (and even then it was a stretch). It felt like they had one person for the whole service department or something, and that person was new, and didn't know too much about fixing cars unless he/she was looking at the book while doing it.. I don't know.. Just seems like they want to sell the cars, but are being forced into having a service department. Even to get an oil change you were looking at setting up the apointment three weeks to a month away at the earliest. I don't know what happened, but I started going elsewhere for service. More
