Maintenance Minder came on with A14 code which indicates need for timing belt replacement. Made an appointment for 9 AM on Monday morning. Nearest Honda service is 100 miles from me, so got up early and ar need for timing belt replacement. Made an appointment for 9 AM on Monday morning. Nearest Honda service is 100 miles from me, so got up early and arrived at 8:30. Met service advisor (Kevin) and he said service would be $3,000+. I was shocked but really had little choice. Went to the waiting area and sat to read. 3 hours later, Kevin texted me that they couldn’t get to my Ridgeline, but would provide a loaner. I drove the two hours home. On Wednesday morning I got a text from Kevin that my truck was ready. Made the 2 hour drive to pick up my truck and the bill was $3,200. I tried to pay with my credit card, but Kevin informed me that it would be $80 more for credit. Made the 2 hour drive home. When I pulled in my garage, my wife and I noticed a strong burning odor. I texted Kevin about the problem and suggested that I could return at 11 on Saturday. He responded that was fine and I could return at my convenience. On Saturday, I returned to the Service Department at 10:30. Found Kevin and told him I needed them to find the cause of the burning smell. He had no idea who I was or what I was there for, but I had my paperwork. He looked it over and said he had to talk to the Service Manager. About 15 minutes later, he came back and said they wouldn’t be able to look at it for at least 5 hours. They offered a loaner, but I declined as I had other commitments and needed my truck. When I returned home, the smell was still there (Kevin suggested it was oil burning off). So here I sit having spent 12 hours driving back and forth, $3,200 poorer with a truck we’re afraid to drive. Planet Honda is the worst excuse for a full service dealer. More
From one service shop to another, it is so disheartening to have a customer come in after being lied to about thousands of dollars in repairs that are unnecessary. But I wanted to thank Jesse and Jimme - thanks to your scamming and scheming ways, we were able to gain a new customer for life, by not being greedy and conniving, but honest and transparent. I don't even want to know how many times you have gotten one over on a customer, or bad mouthed other shops to make that case. Life is a reaping and sowing process - that reaping part will come full circle. More
You might wonder why I'm giving a 5 star review & we didn't buy? We live in Idaho & our dealer had been told the vehicle we wanted was now not available. I searched for one & Planet had it & I asked if it was still in their inventory? Liam Bruno immediately emailed me yes. Then we communicated about the CRV Hybrid and he sent us a quote with a very good price. Later in the afternoon our dealer did say they would have the vehicle in a week. I really thanked Liam for his quick assistance, honest dealing and how he tried to make this happen for us. The salesmanship was no pressure just how can we help you! Thank you Liam Bruno and Planet Honda for trying to help us. I am finding it so full circle that my first car in 1976 was a Honda Civic & now my last I think is a Honda CR-V Hybrid. More
Our experience with this dealership was fine for the first part, but when it came time to sign the documents with Frank Buonacore, we felt extremely uncomfortable.
